I flew into a station without permission...

... and didn't die?

I was doing a run for the Summerland CG and I was wandering why I wasn't seeing the landing pad number on my hud.

At which point I realized I flew inside without permission.

I cringed as I was waiting for the incoming fire... but it never came.

Confused, I went to my left panel and asked docking permission, and that was that. They accepted and I calmly landed on the pad.

What happened there? I was allied with the station, so did they turn a blind eye? Or were they just too busy to notice? There were about 8 other players in the area and plenty of npcs, but I think they'd still notice a rogue clipper inside the station.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that there was no alarm nor countdown of any sort.

Yeah, you get a minute or two before they open fire. But the couple of times I've done it I had to fly back out before I could get docking permission.

While you were inside the station?

I've flown into an allied station with a few players without permission, but as soon as I touch the airlock, I get the alert, and since I am usually in a T7, quite a fine because the damn thing just wont turn.

Glad they put a longer timer on this. Bout time FD stopped punishing their players this way. Only made the mistake once....lol in a T6 and just made it to the hole before it took them about 1/2 sec. to destroy me.

They've included a fine...that will work for a longer duration of trying to get back out. Sounds like typical over bearing authoritative power which works for me, just not the old "sorry time is up and you are dead approach."

That wasn't how it worked for me this morning.

The timer is irrelevant in this context (it was already long enough to turn a t9 around and exit).

Being able to request permission when in the station already (if true) is the important aspect.

Did something change in the server downtime today or have you found a buglet?

Possibly related:
On a few occasions now I've had the docking request hang and then time out. Of course, not paying full attention to this I've just continued on into the station.
So now I'm wondering where the landing pad cue is, or even what number pad I'm supposed to park on.
'I'm sure I requested docking, what's going on?'
It's not until I'd rechecked the comms logs I realise the request had timed out. But the station doesn't seem to care that I'm now trespassing.

I spent ages once, parked down the end of George Lucas watching the traffic and the bizarre antics of the portal rammers, following one of these glitches.

When it happens for me I get to try the T9s FAoff followed with a boost. With success, back when it was the 30sec countdown. Why did they change it? -Did anyone complain?

Odd - that doesn't happen to me. When I forget, there is the timer countdown that I must leave the station or get blown to bits. After clearing, I get a fine, and then I have to wait a few seconds before I receive a message that my station rights (or something like that) is in good standing. Only then will they allow my docking request and I can reenter the station.

Also, the 10 minutes to dock countdown gets reset to 10 minutes once the docking computer kicks in. Did it always do this ? Hmmm, maybe I just never noticed till today...
