I love this game! (but I'm bored...)

Looking for suggestions please!
Bounty hunting at RES's isn't doing it for me anymore.
I've got Pathfinder in exploration and don't fancy going out again until there's more 'stuff' added to see out there.
I've traded for a fair while in different ships and the appeal is gone there for me too.
Grinding my way to an Anaconda makes me shudder...

I've been ranking up but got caught a couple of times by bugged missions, so I've been holding out for PowerPlay - but now it's delayed!

So what do you CMDRs reckon? I'm not ready to retire yet!

Thanks everyone

I felt the same
Kitted out an Asp for 34ly jump range and now been out 4 weeks, loving it
Will come back to take a look at power play but I think Im hooked on exploring.
Next trip straight down to the basement from Sol, I want to see where the stars end......

How about finding a system, that you can influence the faction standings and pick a side? Change the control of said system.

Arry.

You may want to consider joining a group. Groups usually have some players driven objective. Alternatively, you can try to run CGs, pay a visit to Sag A*, do buckyball runs, or get involved in some community project such as the galactic mapping project.

Think of a backstory for yourself, and then take it from there. Is there anything about the current factions you dislike? Anything happened to you in any system that was particularly memorable?

Run rep missions for 2 factions that may have a powerful "Buff" in powerplay, to increase your options. Or heck, try piracy for a bit. Or kit a viper, pick on a big ship and lead him around for an hour, laughing maniacally because he won't give up. Or my fav, HUNT DOWN HALSEY.

Go back to basics, buy an Eagle, spec it out and go pirate hunting in that.

Find another game to play, split your time...otherwise you will burn out....blasphemy i know...but it does work :)

I'm in the same boat. Was hanging around a system that I had a ship stored. Was using the Vulture but it is getting boring. The vulture simply destroys everything. So I got my ASP out of storage and decided to cash in my alliance bounties. Not sure what I will do next but it is getting a little boring.....

Sounds like are are suffering from game burnout a bit, can happen in all games really. I hit the wall a while back & went from playing mostly all day, to just a couple of hours here & there. I think the key with ED is to set yourself goals, I am currently going for elite trader. I still need another billion CR or so to get it, so I set myself a modest total of 10m CR per day (sometimes I do more). But I can easily achieve this with a couple of hours gameplay per day. Figure it will take me 100 days to reach my goal. This seems miles away ofc, but by only doing a small chunk at a time, actually makes it much more enjoyable for me when I am online. Dunno if this post helps you at all, but for me it's more about enjoying my time in ED, than playing it for the sake of it.

You mention Anaconda & shudder at the grinding, but divide it down into small chunks (Credits per day) say 2 hours per day. It will not look so far away & tedious by breaking it up.

Thanks for the ideas guys!

GTAV is the other game I'm playing at the moment when the infinity of space gets too much :)
I actually just started playing E : D again about 2 weeks ago after an extended break - was hoping more content might have been added by now!

I'm afraid my last spin around the galaxy was my last for a while. It was the loneliness that got me in the end. My ASP is still in storage, but her day will come.

That's interesting about changing the control of a system, Arry. Hadn't thought of that - might give it a go!

Cheers

I found an outlying system (Tougier) that was anachy, controlled by the local pirates. The main starport (Janes Dock) was controlled by the pirates but there were two outposts that were independent.
I noted the daily traffic was very low, and set about reducing the pirates influence from 54%. Took every mission offered by the other (not so much pirates) and persecuted the pirates.
After a few days two of the minor factions went to war so i picked one and sided with them in the conflict.
Some time later (after that war finished) i switched to just doing every mission for my chosen faction (Independent Liberals) and continued to persecute the pirates.
Eventually my chosen faction and the pirates went to war, i again sided with my chosen faction and.... eventually the war was won and now the system is Independent. My chosen faction is now the controlling influence.
All told took about 3-4 weeks of playing every day but it really gave me something to aim for. It's really nice to see that you can change things in game by your actions.
Have moved away now and am wondering just what to do next :( Even started mining again just for the change !

is it possible to turn independent system into anarchy this way ?

Go again from sidewinder to anaconda , and max each ship .

Go ask other cmdr's in different ships to duel you. You will get your duels and you will get your fun again.

I can't see any reason why not, the controlling faction can be manipulated regardless of who they are. You could just support the pirates and persecute all the other factions. The only problem would be if the pirates are also faction based. Never tried it, hmmmm maybe i'll try ;)
