Yeah! Were finally getting ship pilots! (but when?)

with 1.3 i think...

but i don't get the hype around it.
IF someone gets close enough to me to look into my canopy, he might see an unanimated puppet in the seat that looks like anyone else.
It's a nice addition... but i don't really understand how this is the most anticipated update of the game.

Will there be one in your own ship if you're using the remote cam for selfies?

Not that I'm into that, you understand - merely asking the question.

no reason why it shouldn't be...
and noone would expect you to ask for selfish reasons like "selfies" ;)
really... i wouldn't. never.

If we're getting some of our dumb little wants in addition to our major needs in the new update, I'd like to request they move the paintjob repair option to the livery screen in outfitting. This way wear and grime will noticeably build up without the player having to fiddle with the individual repair options and getting a fresh coat of paint will be a conscious decision every time. The paintjob weathering mechanic feels overlooked, wasted and misused in its current place. File it under dumb little wants that cost nothing and give something.

And then people will complain how their Ghost ship is now flown by Shop Manikin until they get animated ones. :)

Man you guys are a bunch of buzzkills. I also would like to see some animated and/or static human models "working" in the space stations too. <Flame Suite On>

Yes that would be cool. Technicians doing EVA. Like in the DS9 intro:

Even just a tiny touch like flickering window lights (suggesting figures moving inside), would make stations feel more alive.

And then a character screen will be needed to dress the pilot, change his hair, put make up on her....
Seriously, this would be very nice. The character-building experience is one thing that, for example, EvE Online really did right (and people will compare it to)—it's creative, immersive and atmospheric (even if I personally didn't think the rest of that game was).

I don't think it's the right time for that yet—but I really do hope we get a good character creator for the EVA expansion.

AND "enhance" her in other ways ;)
Cybernetic limbs? ;)

Do try to remember to think practical. Zero gravity + harsh linear acceleration forces + RemLok compression-catsuity-thing = potential comfort issues.

It would be if it was your avatar in the cockpit.

Looked at pic and that really helps with the sense of scale. Need them on platforms and stations and then it will look awesome.
