Ships The only ship for which I'd abandon my beloved Clipper!

i'm more and more certain that it will be an evil Cobra, same size too.

price: 600 000 credit
weapons: 3 medium
more jump range than cobra, but less cargo
same speed

And spend a month or more ranking up because even with Yukai's guide the ranking up system is obtuse, frustrating and based on luck.

  1. Pick a Minor Imperial Faction and work for them until you get a Rank/Promotion Mission.
  2. Complete Rank/Promotion Mission. Yay Outsider
  3. Pick NEW Minor Imperial Faction and work for them until you get a Rank/Promotion Mission.
  4. Complete Rank/Promotion Mission. Yay Serf
  5. Pick NEW Minor Imperial Faction and work for them until you get a Rank/Promotion Mission.
  6. Complete Rank/Promotion Mission. Yay Master
  7. Buy Imperial Courier

I hope the Courier like the Eagle requires only 1 person to keep it flying but like the Eagle in the Lore you can have a co-pilot in another section of the ship. That would be nice.

Courier im defiantly interested in, i recently came back and am an alpha backer and moved on from my Eagle though i still fly her time to time but Atm fly a pretty nifty and power and heat efficient Turret Beam Laser and Multi and Cannon based Cobra Mk3 though its speed is great its feel isn't as much as the Eagle.

Im hoping for what the assumed cost being 10mil that the Courier is fast like the Cobra with Extra mobility and plenty of utilities even if you have to sacrifice a hardpoint.

The Imperial Courier will be my next ship.
I am glad that the recent community event at Zaonce allowed me to raise the needed funds, and I also advanced to Master rank just in time. I am hoping this ship will have good range, anything above 25 LY and we are talking business. I am assuming this will have less firepower than the Asp, or at least have no more than 4 hardpoints. But this is OK. With the added diversity, the game can only improve. I guess the Diamondback will be the A-Team van compared against this sports car.

I would like that, though I would estimate its price around the full million; and it's jump range will probably okay-ish, 20Ly maybe, but not more than the Clipper (which maxes out at ~24Ly when exploration-optimized).

Given the initial prices of the FdL and the Vulture and the fact it's a Gutamaya high quality ride, I think everything under 6-10 million is a bit unrealistic. If it's fast, with a good jump range such a price would be totally appropriate, IMHO.

no official work from a dev about any of the stats?
Most of what made up the vulture was known well before it was available.

Yes, dear devs/secret alpha testers, please to give us courier and diamondback stats! The lack of same are making it difficult to salivate!

Even if it's good, I don't think I'll just "abandon" my Clipper.

no way i'm leaving her, i will keep both of em, kind of building my "imperial-fleet" :D (humming the starwars imperial tune:p)
with the new smaller ship for all those outposts, and as more a nimble ship, good for warzones too.
as it is...i kind off fell in love with the overall luxorious design of the clipper,
and i hope they keep up this 'signature' imperial looks and style for all future imperial ships.

i tried a pyhton last week, and i must confess i kept coming back to my clipper, yes the pyhton has more of everything weapon, cargo, armor, ect.
but its a matter of personal taste i think, so i sold the pyhton again, having my clipper in storage, flying that again and, still more than happy with it.:)

anyway... i'm looking foreward to be able to fly one.

After seeing the latest image of the Courier I'm excited and hoping this thing is worth around 10-15M only because it'd mean better ship specs and higher class modules for an "end-game" small or medium combat/explorer. I'd love to move back to a small ship but not feel that I'm gimping myself too much.

Currently, if you want to be able to take down Anacondas and Pythons efficiently, you'll need to have a larger ship like a Clipper, FDL, or Python. (Not to say you can't do it in a Viper, Cobra, Asp, or Vulture; the TTK just isn't efficient thus making little reason to return to a small ship once you have 200m+).

The in-game model?

The fact that the Fed Corvette isn't going to be released soon, along with this ship being so frign sexy, has prompted me to finally join the dark side =( Will start grinding rep with Emp soon.

Given the fact that it only requires the rank of Master to acquire, compared to baron for the Clipper which is a much higher rank, leads me to think it won't be very expensive nor powerful. I hope it will be though.

My biggest fear is that it be a useless ship for people who are already far in the game.
