I stumbled across a planet made of 100% metal the other day. How good of a find is that exactly? I know it's no Earth Like World, but 100% metal? That can't be too common.
How rare (or common) is this?

You're going to see quite a few of those on your travels i think.
They need high temperatures to form so you will usually only find them very close to the star (for a star like Sol, it's under 0.06 au, or about 30 light seconds.) They are reasonably valuable, you're looking at somewhere over 10,000 credits for a detailed scan.
Oh, they also need to be quite small - there's a cutoff point of mass above which a planet will be high metal content instead of 100% metal. I haven't pinned down the relationship exactly and in rare circumstances you can find high mass examples.
I must be fairly lucky then... on my most recent jaunt most of the "metal rich" planets seem to be at 100% metal.
I wonder if you whacked it really hard, whether it'd go "THwunnnNNNNNGGG"
You can tell the ones that are 100% iron as their surface is covered in Asps.

Really, look at that. Unfortunately, when I blurred out the system location, original picture has been accidentaly overwrited and... now I have no idea what was the system name (I have travelled quite far since then). No biggie, it was just 0.1% after all

Looking at that screenie, I can't possibly imagine why anyone would think that exploring is boring. You've got:
a) the core beneath you with a great view
b) you are in some stellar nursury or something with all those bright stars
c) you found an ammonia world
d) you found an ammonia world with rings
e) you found an ammonia world with icy rings
