To all cmdrs that joined the anaconda owners club during the Zoance sale--what do you think so far

When I first heard about the sale at Zoance I decided to get the python, as I had been on the fence about my next ship FDL or Python and the sale sealed the deal. So I sold my t7 and picked the python up. I then started thinking about a large dedicated trader, and after looking over my finances thought why not go for the anaconda too. So I sold my A rated Asp and Viper and went to jameson memorial and bought a t9 with just enough extra to cover ins and cargo. I figured I would maximize trading profits to see If I could make enough in the time I had to pick the conda up.
Well last night, even though I was a little short of my goal credit wise I sold the t9 and my beloved Vulture and once again headed to zoance and picked her up.
First impression ---WOW! It is massive. You get the feeling you are in command of a battleship (which of course you are).
I had enough to put in A5 shields, B rated fsd, and the rest is D rated and I can still carry 436t . I had enough left for 2x ins and cargo. With its 15ly jump range the 4 jump route I was running with my t9 with an A rated fsd, now takes 2 jumps. Turning and overall maneuverability is so much better, it no longer feels like a grind to fly compared to the t9.
The biggest problem I have so far is going in and out of the letterbox, I occasionally hit either hi or low. This morning on an exit I got jammed in the letterbox so hard I just barely, with seconds left, managed to get free and get out. I know with time and experience I will get it figured out, but I sweat every takeoff and landing. Overall I am very happy with the ship, even though it is a money pit (8A PP 162M --Ouch), of course I knew that going in. For now it is going to be a trader with teeth which has the ability to make 3M per hr with a good route. The Python is going to be my combat ship.

I kinda want one for a similar purpose - trader with teeth. I used my old Cobra for this for a little while, but once I had the cash to buy expensive lasers I switched to bounty hunting and haven't looked back. Also, 3m per hour seems a little low? I was making ~100k (high 40k one way, ~50-60k the other) profit per round trip in my Cobra, surely a million per trip (you have ten times the cargo space I had) - which takes <10 mins for my favourite route isn't out of the question, which would mean more like 6m per hour (I was trading palladium and Imperial Slaves which the stations had in quantities > 10000 where I was buying)?

Or is their diminishing returns because you're carrying such absurd quantities of cargo? Like you are making 1500cr for the first 200t, then only 1300 for the next 200t then your next trip you are obviously making less, etc?

EDIT: I'm months away from being able to actually afford an Anaconda though (flying a still-shiny Vulture atm and getting ~2-3m credits per night).

I also downshifted to a Python for combat, but mostly because it can land anywhere and if your goal is promoting anarchy, you better be able to land on outposts :) Otherwise, fully equipped Anaconda would be better for pretty much anything because it can get up to 40ly jump range, lots of shields and guns, etc, etc.

Well, I've been flying the Python for some time, and decided to try the Anaconda to improve my trading.

I am quite surprised, it is very nimble for something that big, and I just fitted some D stuff, a C power core, A shields and friendship drive. I imagine it will be pretty fun after I add some decent thrusters.

Still getting the gist of docking that thing, though, feels like there's a force field pushing me up inside the slot, and I always scrape the walls a little.

Way less annoying than the T9, and the super shields and impressive weaponry add to the enjoyment.

I manage to take full advantage of that sale too after the disa ma corn CG. Took my payout and sold everything I had, then bought anaconda. Soon learned just how good of an armed trade ship it was. I dont miss that space cow T9 at all lol! Came back a couple of days later and bought a python. Now I have 2 of the best ships with permanent cheaper rebuy, Wins all around

Decent trader with the range to support it. After flown the Python for so long, the Anaconda drifts a lot during SC and normal flight so no last minute flip to the toaster port for me D:

I really want one of those drives. Sounds Friendly.:)

I did the same Cooper, only not the proper way like you. I really didnt want to miss out on the cheaper ship and rebuy, I really scrimped and scraped till the last min........But I got there in time and managed to get the conda only E fit.
So I had about 2mil left not even enough for insurance which was about 4.6 mil on this discounted model, spent most of that on cargo bays with around 900k for trade float.
It did cause me some minor heart palpitation moments docking and other stuff, flying this new ship. Luckly it was only for few hours but i have cash now so all is good.

Also Conda flight(TO ME) is the most unique experience i have had in this game, it really does handle like a battleship compared to the other ships. It may just be me but its the first time i have had real fun a-b trading as the ship is a dream to fly but also work to fly and you may need to plan out some maneuvers a head of time, to me that make it really fun and a different experience to fly.

p.s do not fly ANY ship without insurance(especially the anaconda) unless you are stupid/brave/stupid like me:)

Much oil tanker there is.

I did have a crazy thought that it would be quicker to exit hyperspace, drop into normal flight and use assistance off to align with your next jump location instead of waiting for the Conda to snail-turn in supercruise... (Don't, its a bad idea).

me too... and have it at D class for trading with A class FSD. with a good fuel scoop i can do the diso, leesti, persephone route for good profit and in top 5% ... like you i have difficulties getting out of the cat flap. i try to aim high but often overdo it and scrape. nice ship but takes a lot of getting used to to fly it properly. have had a few overheating moments at stars because i wasnt turning quick enough. very different from my nippy little asp

Admittedly I haven't flown it, but surely no matter how slow it turns, surely it's turned by the time FSD cooldown + charging is done?

Yeah thats why its crazy..
I was using a joystick (X-52) which can get a tad painful for your wrist holding it at 100% pitch up. If you're doing a long jump route and have to turn 180 degrees every time you quickly look for alternatives :)

that took a lot of nerve, I Don think I could have done it. I'm glad it worked out for you. I Ave mine parked at due to the 2 combat cg's at 78 Ursae. I'm thinking of taking it to the new trading cg for me d's tonight

Bought it and used it a while but without enough money to outfit it to its full potential I went back to the Python outfitted for pvp piracy
