No Credit for Kills in Conflict Zones for Community Goals....

I know i am not the only one to have experienced this....(No Credits for kills).... Has anyone Discussed this topic yet?

a few times and there are several reasons it can happen: kill stealing NPC's / human's and the player forgetting to select a faction when they enter the zone are the favorites.

^^^ Most likely you failed to choose a faction side on your left right hand display. The faction section says none and you can't choose anything else out side a combat zone. Once in a combat zone, you join the desired side you wish to play. That is the only way you get credits.

If you see mostly orange on you scanner you haven't chosen a side. If all you see is red and green, then you have.

Kill stealing is a problem in an open community goal since there are not enough NPC's to go around. But even steal killing won't keep you from EVER getting credit because you are bound to blow one up (last shot wins) eventually.

This depends on your faction rep.

Most CZs I enter, both sides are green, before choosing a side, because I'm allied with all major and most minor factions.

Exactly this and some extra information: the right hand side panel (default key 4) go to the outmost right menu, where you can turn on ship lights or landinggear etc. Only in CZ there is an extra one for faction choosing. I gotten the same tips before but still had to look where in the menu's they hidden the choices :)

Ok...I forgot to mention that I experience this when in a Wing in Open play or In Solo Mode .... and Yes I do choose a side.... It doesn't happen often, but when you work on a Big Ship like the Anaconda...and you don't get the credits....It's very frustrating....

yes it is, which is why many people go solo mode.

In open and group play, last shot that hits always gets the kill. So it doesn't matter if you single opened the shields and whittled the guys hull down to paper, if another player drops in a single bullet from his multi-cannon to set the hull to 0% he gets the kill.
(some people here on the forums actually believe that's "fair...." but that's another argument)

In solo play it is tilted towards the human more. If the human player gets the last shot, he is awarded the kill automatically just like in open mode (he kill steals from NPC), if he didn't land the last shot, then the ship that caused the most damage gets the kill, be it human or NPC.

I personally believe it should be who contributed the most to the kill (most damage inflicted) should get the kill, but then I've been told that newbies in sidewinders would get their panties in a wad because they can't steal 80K anaconda kills with their pulse lasers.

I'm sure it's tough to balance... but something is needed here for sure... some kind of Balance...
