But why should he game change to please them? You might argue that it should if they are the majority of players. We don't know that though. You might also argue that the game should only have to please the developers.
Well, the general direction as we understood was David Braben was creating the game he wanted to make, and poo-poo to the players if they don't like that
And i've never been particularly fond of the tyranny of the majority or the tyranny of the vocal minority.
So best thing i think for the game is for DB to keep going in the direction he wants to go. It might work out ok, it might be a disaster, but the direction and vision will at least be consistent.
The thing that has annoyed me most about development so far is when FD have actually listened to the players. For example, the massive reduction in price of the Vulture and FdL. Perhaps a reduction was in order, but the amount they lowered it by was (in my opinion) too much.
I'm not saying devs shouldn't listen to their player base, but take what they say with a pinch of salt, because everything we tend to say is exaggerated to the n-th degree. The Python nerf was a good example of this. People cried and cried about how it was going to kill the python, and yet, the python still remains a very popular ship. Just showing that players really don't know what they are talking about half the time (myself included

)
