FD - Thanks for destroying my Python!

And I mean this honestly.
-
Fighting in a high intensity zone, I had an Anaconda and Python (NPC) ganging up on me along with some smaller ships. My first thought was "I can handle this in my A6 shielded Python, with A0 boosters and SCBs. Let's earn some CR!" Now, usually this would be a walk in the park for me. However, despite spamming cells, my shields dropped. "No problem, I can still tank it" I thought. Then my power plant started getting sniped. Then, I'm furiously trying to reboot my stricken ship and beat a hasty retreat. Then... an unscheduled spacewalk shortly followed by the insurance screen.

I've never had this happen to me before. I'm a fairly experienced CMDR and know (or knew) how to defeat Anacondas and Pythons in my sleep. I don't know if this was a fluke or if the difficulty has been increased, but whatever: More of the same please FD! I've started thinking about things again and it has renewed my interest in bounty hunting.

Yes, there is harder at now.
Now playing with NPC have sense (they still could be a more dangerous in my opinion), game is better, more challlenging. Well done FD.

Great post. Refreshing. I was thinking oh no not again after the first sentence.

I'm so sick of the 'I should never lose' posts this forum is filled with. I really hope the game difficulty is/does get ramped up, most players think they should play this game for 1,000s and 1,000 and never die.

I'm just worried they cant ramp the difficulty because alot of the players have zero tolerance for anything going wrong, from what I read.

yes sometimes the computer players will target your subsystems. Its rare however, sadly. AI still has a LOOOONG way to go.

I read in the patch notes that the AI wont target subsystems. Maybe this was just an unlucky fluke.

And i think they changed something with collisions. A few days ago i tried to ram npc Anaconda with dropped shields with my ASP... i died.
Two days ago i tried to ram other npc Anaconda with dropped shields and a bit damaged hull with my FDL (about 700MJ shields) and... i died :D

And thats how it shoud works!

Before anyone posts telling the OP to stop moaning ... read the last line of his post
Repped you because instead of moaning, you are actually praising Frontier for this, and that should be encouraged on this forum. :)

Yes, I had this once... I was at more than 70% hull definitively but all systems were gone OFFLINE !!!

Oh yes, that was adrenalin pushing! Restarting systems, countdown at 6:35...
when I was back online... and hulls now at 34% I knew what to do... RUN!!!!!!!!

(and that in a Vulture in a CZ - but I escaped at 31%...)

Ozh yes, in CZ sometimes it get hot, I had 1 Conda and 2 Pythons against me but as they were attacked by others too, I could survive long enough to finish them off... carefully
But sometimes when I attack Condas.... suddenly 3-7(!) Eagles and Vipers start to chase and then it is time!!!

Oh yes, I like that, even more than this easy-peasy RES Hunting mostly (I have 2,5x kills in bonds than in bounties)
Well done, FD, and... give us MORE of that!

yeah the npc's have some good days and bad... i got jumped by a conda and 3 pythons in my vulture, killed the conda and 2 pythons before i had to bail (no scb's either)

2 days later ive taken a beat of a beat when out of noware a conda rams me from behind, and my shields are all but 'd.. im like you ahole.... then my sheilds are gone and a frag cannon hits me, just 1.. and i lose my cockpit, thrusters and shield modules. so im sitting there waiti for the reboot.. at 70% hull... and it fails..im on 50% hull.. reboot again.. fail.. 17%... reboot .. fail.. 5%... reboot... fail... eject... so in about 10 seconds it took my sheilds out, critt'd the heck out of me, then had lunch before deciding to finally kill me.... had to laugh all the whils swearing at what an ahole it was.. and sebveral other words :p

I had a similar situation in the Sobek CG the other day, after taking out 'condas, Pythons and the like, I got served by a Novice Eagle from behind that took out my shields, then my cockpit went pop (magical curved shot), then my thrusters went offline (malfunction), then they came on and I stopped sweating, then they went offline again, this was when I knew I was in the doodoo, then at 50 odd % hull I too was at the insurance screen. It cleared all my miscellaneous bounties from where I had/have no idea where to claim them, but that's no big deal as they probably only accounted to 500,000 in total, 383,000 or so was in Imp space, the rest.....pfft.
The only thing that has bugged me about it is why did I come to more or less a dead stop when my thrusters went offline, but I have chased a viper for 60Km who's thrusters were offline (I just couldn't catch him even with 4 pips to engines), then getting a naughty boy bounty on my head when I finally got him.

My issue wasn't the NPC's though they did mostly put up a formidable fight at times, it was random PC's one who wasn't logged into the CZ and as I was trying to explain to him why he didn't get credit for a kill we were both shooting at he decided he was going to ram my shields off line and then fire on me, luckily I had a friend I was winged with in a Python who had my back, the other was just a jerk who wanted to get a vindictive kill on me as I tried to get out of a cz and reset the hostility with friendlies due to cross fire.
