Trading in an Anaconda

I upgraded from a T-9 to an Anaconda.
And I must say, I love, love love it!
I would highly recommend it for traders wanting
a bit more while trading.
Sure it may cost significantly more to outfit.
But having a larger jump range(mine is almost 19Ly).
Better weapons to defend yourself from pirates.
Yes you do get interdicted as in an Anaconda(pairs of small ships, clippers and other anacondas).
The maneuvering thrusters are a "bit" better than a T-9.
I may make less than a T-9 per run, but in the long run, in my opinion it's faster
so equals more $$ per hour.

This is my loadout:
http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=606,5...09Y8SD8D88I,0Bk0AA0AA0AA08c08c08c0720727RA0nE

As you can see, I have an A4 shield, weapons(can't wait for turret fix), cargo capacity of 448t, and STILL have
a jump range of almost 19Ly.

Happy.....Happy......

Trade-aconda is best conda.

I do rares in mine, more for the sake of not having to swap loadouts left and right as often. Also it's self-defending vs player pirates by fitting a decent FSD interdictor and SCB on it. Makes it look more like another pirate vessel or even mistakable was a warzone fighter.
Don't be afraid to equip an SCB and KWS to fool potential highwaymen into thinking your a bountyhunter. As far as I know scanners don't usually tell equipment grade of your target.

Yep, agree. I did the same. Chopping in the T9 for the 'Conda was a good move.

Initially I was ok to drop to the 448 cargo and except the slight loss in cash for the better ship to fly.
But my best trade route is now a straight jump rather than a +1 and the Conda is much quicker in and out of stations and jumps. In an hour the Conda can do an extra run easily outdoing the T9 on a simply profit basis.

It's also a very different story when interdicted... ;-)

Yup, pretty similar to mine which i absolutely love. I dont carry weapons and have a big normous fuel scoop. Took a while to learn how to fly it properly mind...

rep for Anaconda-Love :)

And in a while, you can take it out hunting for real!

This is my battle-fortress that I am using in the current bounty-hunting cg in Persephone. Yes, you do feel fairly safe in this ship :D
I do not usually keep this config though; most of the time it is more like your conda. But I didn't want to buy then sell a fighter just for this cg.
I also did some trade-runs with basic medicines like this, but no pirates interdicted me.. I suppose they scanned the possible victims before interdicting...
(I actually had to down-prioritize cargo hatch and FSD to power deployed weapons even with the 8A power plant). The SCB's draw alot of power, and I keep them powered in tandem mode.

I have been thinking about trading my T9 in for a Conda for the last two weeks. Still not sure. Can somebody from the Conda Owners club convince me? I would use for trade only to start with. Could I use for mining after 1.3? Pack it full off lasers and drones and hit a High Intensity RES.

The T9 is very charming, but comes nowhere near the Conda in terms of punch and size / agility performance. It is a natural upgrade from the T9 as far as I am concerned

I should suggest to lower the reactor to 5A, the same as the power distributor to 6A... they're more thermally efficient (A) and much lighter.
If you can... change the 3E lasers to 2E (not very cheap...) or all 8 hardpoint with 1F/T beam lasers, again they're lighter and will get 20.12ly jump. Something like the Disco-Conda; because you enter the scene and set the turrets to fire at will, and becomes like a disco ball.

Anyone know minimum distributor to be able to boost. I was running an 8D but swapped to a 1D to allow for a 1 jump trader during medical supplies community goal.

Thanks, saves me trying each one to check :)
I use a D7, gives boost and weight wise it's good too.
33UL/20L, 452 Cargo now roughly on my setup (thanks to some assistance a few days ago here) :)
I don't bother with weps, no need (it's easy to run in a Conda), and I get to use A7 thrusters (aLOT better than the T9 supertankertowingasupertankertowingasupertanker maneuverability)
I used to have C7 thrusters and they were pretty damn terrible. A7 makes it actually maneuverable.
(that said, don't have a mouthful of coffee when you see the price of the A7 thrusters) :D

Just used a Conda for the last couple of days trading and to be honest I am not sure if I like it or not.
.
Have already thought about going back to my T9 a couple of times. The thing I hate the most is the nose of the ship out front. Just don't like the look of it and has always put me off.
.
Can land most ships no problem, but even after a few days every few dockings I still end up sqeaking through the letterbox.
.
Will give it another week and see how I feel about it. Do like the increased jump range that is handy for scouting new routes.

The conda has a LOT going for it. It's a battle wagon, and ship-for-ship, it can't be beat in a head to head battle (Assuming pilots of equal skill).
It rocks as a trading vessel for the reasons the OP said.
And I love using it for an explorer. I'm running shields, repair units, heavy weps, etc. on an exploration conda right now, and I get a 36 ly range per jump -- more than a stripped down asp.

Too bad it costs so much. MY current replacement cost is over 15 million. I'm hoping the diamond back has similar range loaded with respectable weps/shields.

Hi! D8ncer!
I find very useful to activate the "Show Mouse Widget" (in settings-controls) to see really where you're pointing the ship. Other issue is to fly in the upper zone of the letterbox (because the bridge is on top of the fat ship), this way avoid scratch the belly of the whale.
