One of the main reasons I'm a defector

Yeah, I thought the interiors were very impressive (if not quite to my taste) and the fact that you can have other players onboard your ship is pretty amazing, especially given that they get to run up or down into turrets, or fly a mini fighter :D

The multi-crew capability is very cool. I have an Idris, it can crew 11 iirc, or you can hire NPCs... Oh well, we'll see if it even happens :S

Belated, but you if you know popovers, then Yorkshires are pretty close. Savory. Drowned in gravy. etc. If you have roast potatoes, some leafy greens and Yorkshires, then you have a proper Sunday dinner. Everything else is optional. :)

God yes, we had Yorkshire pudding for Thanksgiving, had them a few days ago with a rib roast and will be having them again at Christmas :) so good.

My wife steamed a plum pudding for six hours a few days ago... it's fermenting for Christmas day :D

<checks fridge - has sausages> Now see what you've done - it'll have to be toad-in-the-hole for dinner tomorrow.

Aye indeed - I will do it justice, never fear. You can over-egg the pudding, but you can't over-beat the batter.

It's really funny to read all this about how SC is in battle with ED... unless you guys have been living under a rock... Both of these guys are friends. There is no competition between them. They both love space sim games and they both want to make the best game possible.

SC DFM was delayed for one reason and one reason only ... it was not ready. It has nothing to do with ED. Also comparing these two games on when which one comes out with which part first is just stupid… ED has a completely different release time frame then SC.

So all of you just need to be happy that we are getting 2 space games coming out in the next 4-18 months when there has not been a new space game like these in about 18 years. So stop with all the whining and just enjoy the ride. We all get to be winners here… you have to love the interweb…

lol this thread reminds me of Derek Smart and his cult following (the early posts at least) :p

I'm sorry, I know it's dangerous to speak his name. It's not my intention to summon him to this forum.

Ok everyone

After reviewing this thread, I'd like to ask that it goes back on topic and the comments about stereotypes cease.

Thanks

Ya i've been a backer of sc since it was announced and a active forum member. I'm new here and this is my first post but have been keeping up with most of you for over a month or so. Ill be honest this group of people on this forum have me so much more excited about elite than i have ever been about star citizen. This community in contrast to sc's community is amazing. Much more mature over here and makes me that much more excited to play elites multiplayer just for that fact.

Welcome to the community! We try to keep this place as clean and direct as possible regarding forum discussions.

Much of this community is an older, more mature bunch - which isn't a bad thing! :D

Making note that much of the people here who have backed (lurked, followed, etc) Elite: Dangerous have been loyal fans/followers since the 80's and 90's. This game is something many have awaited for, a few decades actually! :)

Long time fan myself but only joined the forums here after I heard about the Kickstarter. Now that I mention it, I can't remember where I heard about it. It may have been on the Egosoft forums but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the KS page itself as this was my first project I backed and was barely even aware if its existence back then.

I bought some ships/packages for SC as an early backer. I sold everything and left that place for good. Didn't agree with their marketing practices and wasn't fond of their PR/communication. Nothing I'd like to debate here just stating my personal perception. I wish SC backers much enjoyment and hope the game turns out well for the sake of all fans of space sims.

The community here is managed so well that I feel a need to really think about what I post before hitting the reply button. This place commands a level of respect and courtesy amongst its members that I rarely see on gaming forums. Its a refreshing change and as an older gamer, a very appreciated one.

I'd like to thank the mods for making this forum a warm, inviting and professional place. It definately had an impact on me backing. :)
