i'm curious what fun toys we will have coming with this patch. Hopefully we will have more to choose from this time around

Pardon my ignorance but why do so many players think the Empire is about blue lasers? I mean even the poster for Patreus in 1.3 has them clearly using red lasers?


I'm just honestly curious why every other imperial player thinks they need blue lasers. Were they blue at some point? Have I missed something? All I know is the imperial capital ship has giant blue lasers. Why is blue associated with the Empire to begin with? Because they changed the map icons to blue for them or?

Just curious.

The Imperial Capital Ship has blue lasers, thats why we want them on our ships also :)

it would be even cooler if we could choose the color of our beams. Everyone just has orange..id like to see some variation on the battlefields. Green, purple, white, blue etc etc. that would add a nice touch to our ships in combination with matching interface color and paintjobs.

I too am curious as isn't the main battery on the Majestic rail guns, hence the blue?

How about a disabler missile? Only initially used by Authority vessels, they make their way onto the market. It will only work on unshielded ships, or those whose shields have failed, When it is fired it heads to the target vessel at speed, slowing down at the last moment so as not to destroy itself. When it connects it then puts a heavy drain onto the electrical system (which may well cause these systems to fail), while charging up its internal capacitor system. When this has a full charge the missile them dumps the charge back into the target vessel, overloading the electrical systems.
