ED Community

WOW I must say I have been active for 48 hours and I am very impressed by the community. Everyone seems polite and Professional.

This community is far better then community I have seen in Star Citizen Forums since day one. People are just criticizing each other for even making thread or asking questions. If someone start a thread, there is always someone who rush in and post a stupid comment to discredit entire conversation or discussion. There is a lot of friction between each other in Star Citizen forums. And Moderators are among one of them who like to join these groups. If you not a backer you will be attacked by everyone including moderators. It seems lower class trolls from EVE ONLINE have already infiltrated Star Citizen or maybe they are just kids because everyone can get into alpha/beta/game by paying $30.

But I really appreciated the feedback I have gotten so far and type of feedback I have seen on other threads in our Community. I am enjoying the relaxed atmosphere here at ED. Thank You.

Don't let them lull you into a false sense of security. And keep away from the ones with the soiled onesies!

We're a good bunch, indeed...ever since I've forcefully converted everyone to the faith of Only True Space Sim with DB on top of the pantheon of deities.

Very kind comments and I have to say I have rarely found a community of this quality within a gaming context. What stands out is the positivity and good humour and even when comments are raising concerns it is done without confrontation.

At the end of the day everyone here wants exactly the same outcome and that's the best possible Elite experience.

BAH! He is powerful, but I won't be tricked by his sorcerer's ways! There is only one true gamer God; the dark and malevolent Lag God! His anger must be abated with the pixelated blood of noobs at every opportunity. If he is pleased with your blood sacrifices he will grant you low ping and speed your data packets along with his blessing. If he is displeased he will curse you with intermittent lag spikes and cause your avatar to dance for his evil amusement! You know it's true! Tremble with fear!

Happy to see you here friend. I think you'll find much of the user base for Elite: Dangerous a bit more laid back and mature. I'm familiar with EvE, having played it on and off since 2003 (Flatliner and Sh0klar my Amarrian remake) char names. Yes the EvE community can be a bit shall we say - boisterous. :)

Welcome aboard.
Shok.

Just don't mention Clans/community's/Guilds. Gets some all crazy!

This maybe a strange thing to say but I think we have a better community because we have a smaller number of backers.

The reason for that is that to back costs quiet a bit more so normally the ones who back are of a more mature attitude and a long time fan of the game. A game like Star Citizen can be accessed at a lower cost so more people have pledged which opens the door for any passer by.

Also there are three levels of forum.

1 - General and most of the forums - Any one can access.
2 - Backers forum - anyone that has pledged.
3 - DDR & Alpha - People that have pledged at a higher level.

I have found even though we have a good community the higher you go in the forums the more focused the forum members are, apart from Alien, Duex and a few others of course. :p

SC has gone mainstream long ago with almost 350K backers, the forums went downhill around 100K, certainly not on "day one".

ED has what, 30K backers?

Also who cares what people post, never got this "good community - bad community" talks. The only thing that counts is will the game be good enough and makes enough profit or not.

I'd not been part of an "online community" until this so haven't experienced phenomena such as "trolls" or whatever else - but yes, it is a very welcoming place indeed.

Which reminds me.

Welcome! :)
