Ok, since there were already massive posts about 1.3 I am kind of afraid to ask aat this point. Will the 1.3 beta also be on the Mac, or is the Mac left out of beta testing from now on? :) If so, I will reboot now into Windows, haha

If it is curved and therefore closed (positive curvature, k=+1) it is BY DEFINITION NOT INFINITE!

But, all current up-to-date measurements of CMB, SNe Type 1a, Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations etc. suggest that we live in a FLAT (not curved, k=0) Universe. The CMB radiation itself is indicative of a Big Bang, so the Universe, however vast it is, is finite. The observable Universe is of the scale of 10^26 meters, but the actual Universe is assumed to be (from measurements of the evolution of it's expansion, see scale factor a(t)) at the scale of 10^30 meters. Mindbogglingly big, but still finite.

Not if it runs like other betas, no.

In the launcher you'll have a third option after the game and the tutorials, that will be the beta. Your main commander will just stay saved until you choose to return to it. (s)he won't be used in beta except by name, and you may have the same starting position. It should be a separate server, separate galaxy.

You are aware that only previous beta testers get the beta? It's not an open beta.

Who's ready to bet? I'll guess around 8PM GMT. I hope it won't be late in the night (for the devs, not for me, I'm not even sure I'll get to play today :p)

Besides I prefer to UK's way of measuring things.

Our own mismatch of imperial and metric is the best in the world.

How many other places in the world could you go and ask for a 5lbs sack of Spuds, 1kg of Turnips, 2 punnets of Strawberries and 1.75 liters of Milk without the shopkeeper looking at you like you are mad as you mashup all the units of measurement?
