Discouraged, email sent to FD

With the new minerals now actually minable i can see mining becoming more like exploring (in a good way!).

When exploring, you go out looking for stuff, and then you spot an Earthlike or Black hole and its ka-ching!

Perhaps now same with mining. You go out, get some mining done, and then you hit an asteroid with Painite and it will be ka-ching!

Also we now have finally mineral scanners and mineral harvesters, so no more just smashing up rocks to get an idea what is inside.

Mining can definately be done while out in the deep depths of unexplored space when you find a good spot.

They don't - you have to actually damage them. With the friendly-fire rules, combined with a bit of mindfulness wrt my trigger-finger, I find it is almost impossible to 'accidentally' aggro NPCs (that's not to say it never happens to me, but its generally my own fault e.g., cycling through targets and accidentally (really!) shooting at the wrong guy - remember FF doesn't apply if you are targeting someone).

The bugs are still there. It is simply unacceptable

You guys don't get it. Those are bugs very deep in code and in there since forever. As a programmer I know exactly how hard those are to fix. They were acceptable as annoyance before, now they are a disaster.

The bugs are in a BETA BUILD of the game though. At least wait until they are in the full release before complaining about them.

Its not a bug its human error, check your targets.

Haha hahaha. He's right, that's totally unacceptable! Hahahaha. "As an ex programmer" ( now à systems analyst) I can tell you that even the perceived bug wouldn't have been hard to fix... Simply don't call the clean up function, and send the object back out on its path finding function again.... Sigh.

Threads like this (and many, many others that are so useless they may as well be considered disinformation) make me hope frontier completely ignore everything we say and just develop the game off their own ideas.

Honestly no offense to the OP, but posts like this are why the Beta forum should be Read Only. The OP is entitled to his opinion and when this build gets an open release they might feel the same way.

But the Beta forum should be locked to people actually participating in the Beta.

Yep. Forming an opinion based solely on 2nd hand information is not the way to go. I have seen a few threads with folks moaning about things, that are actually there and working, its just that they either not had access to the beta, or they have access, but are rushing through and missing stuff.

Agree on beta for beta backers only.

Sorry OP but claiming things are tougher now than previously is simply not true (ask anyone bounty hunting or exploring now who was trying to make credits in the same way at launch).

I concur. I want to read info from beta testers who are actually testing beta, not someone who has read something and jumped to conclusions. I am not a beta tester and it is taking me ages to sort the wheat from the chaff.

the problem has nothing to do with 2nd hand information, its that the OP is clearly wrong lol. That shouldn't mean logical people lose access to contributing on the beta forums, if anything it should invite a singular ban or downvote. I mean you get plenty of opinions here and some are unfounded, but this isn't an opinion its just flat wrong lol.

Hi everyone, hate to start on a sour note but the new powerplay is MORE of a let down and things will only get worse for some as game items are added but newer players find it unobtainable without hours upon hours of zombie like grind.

As of now the updates before powerplay beta have been severely nerfed earnings in especially mining, now in powerplay (when it comes out), in bounty hunting if an accidental hit on say a police while fighting in a RES cannot be paid off and it takes 7 days for it to go away this means those of us that have a home system that we have adopted could be off limits because we would be attacked by NPC'S because we are wanted.

I've been reading on the forums and I am not alone in feeling that it's just too much nerf, I also think most people will agree that the game needs more content but to nerf Cr making play before content is added is the wrong direction that FD has taken because people have to grind like zombies for hours for a lot less (especially mining), but now even bounty hunting at RES is at risk for people when accidentally hitting an innocent.

Early adopters are now gazillionaires because they got in before the heavy nerfs (and I don't hold it against them as they deserve perks), but now unless we make ED our second job we won't be able to even hope to get there, and now new ships are here but they might as well be still unplayable because of the cost and we cannot hope to join the ranks of the 1%ers because of "randomization" they have put in which has seriously nerfed Cr opportunities, anyways this is just my thought and I'm not sure if I will pay for expansions if I am not able to earn without the hope of reaching my goals.

It's not a race. The game is not all about getting the biggest bestest ship as fast as you can and then.... and then... oh.

You see? So you break your butt grinding and grinding and you eventually get that great big shiny 'whatever'. What have you really achieved? Certainly not enjoyment of the game because you've turned playing a game into a job.

Relax, take your time, see the sights. Trade a little, mine a little, shoot a little and enjoy doing it all. The big shiny 'whatever' will still be there for you and when you get it you can look back on a lot of hours having fun.

I have a few million in the bank and i drive a type 6. I was an early adopter and I'm having fun, not desperately trying to have it all in the first few weeks.

Why the focus on credits? They don't make the game more fun. Quite the opposite, in fact. Lots of credits = biggest ships and best equipment = least skill/effort to get stuff done. If you want to have fun, stick with smaller and poorly equipped ships.

I started in premium beta and took a couple of months break recently. When I return I'll be worth a relatively paltry 15 or 16M, and I've been playing over a year. Doesn't bother me, as I think if I had the decked out Anaconda I would have probably checked out a while back. Take it slow. See the sights. Focus on variety not credit grinding and try to have some fun!

THIS.........EXACTLY THIS /\

Hate to rain on your parade but it has never been easier to generate credits in this game than right now. Bounty hunting is now so lucrative you can generate more credits per hour in a decent RES (braindead turkey shoot) using a Vulture than all trade ships up to a Type 6 or 7. Exploration was also boosted. Try putting some effort in and hauling your ass out to the neutron layer. I went from Aimless to Elite in 2 weeks and was 250 million better off. Exploration is currently the fastest way to reach Elite in the game. There are plenty of ways to make money but all require some effort. It seems you want all of the credits with none of the effort.

Sorry, ok, the %''s of the ores in the mining fields are way down (even though rings are pristine), ok I says, maybe bhotho is getting bled dry, so I go exploration and get 800 LY from populated space, get the old mining laser out and poke around in a pristine metallic and low and behold nothing I'm getting is any better then in bhotho, then add the fact that I try in more systems and same thing, log out and in to change the instance and nothing, days later it's still going down hill, now I routinely find (when I do), 6% to 3% , I've done the ugie boogie, sacrificed chickens, even prayed to the devil himself but no improvements in yields no matter where I go, maybe it's just me, maybe i'm bugged, I don't know.
