I hope linking a steam key isn't going to be causing any issue's if we don't intend to play our game via the steam client (me and a few other's).

If you're concerned then simply DO NOT redeem the Steam key... especially since you don't intend to play the game through Steam - I don't see an issue here.

Yeah i won't attempt to link my steam account while there is no information about it, perfectly happy with the non steam version.

One thing to warn about this is, that the Steam download assumes its the Gamma/Release version, so if you have Alpha or Beta rename the folder in the Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products folder from FORC_FDEV_1010 to

  • FORC_FDEV_1000 for Alpha backers
  • FORC_FDEV_1001 for Premium Beta backers
  • FORC_FDEV_1002 for Standard Beta backers
This will keep you from having to redownload the game again. You could also copy your installation into the Products folder which you'd normally find in AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments.

They shoud limit connection to some rational number, then people will claims their keys in queue. At now is free for all and nobody can open the sezam.

You know at first I was excited that Magento might be a crazy Gentoo fork, I haven't heard of.
But it's just an e-shop platform that only requires a Linux server by the looks of it... sad.
