New speed limit : an important safty message !

Pilots are reminded that from version 1.3 of Elite, the speed limit in the stations!
Speed cameras being installed in the letterbox! Danger!

Again, it´s no speed limit. You´ll not be punished for flying "fast" unless you hit other ships.

Or you could fly carefully, have some derptard rush out of the station as fast as he can fly, intentionally hit you, then smash himself in the wall, earning you a bounty and a fiery death from the station gunners.

Nah. Not broken at all.

As I noted regarding your other post about this (the other speeding thread), the plan is, if you're doing under the speed limit, you're 100% not-at-fault in a collision with another ship... regardless of that other ship's speed.

You won't be penalised, because you weren't speeding.



If you've tested Beta 1.3 and found it doesn't work as intended, raise a bug report under 1.3 PowerPlay Beta Bug Reports section.

You've raised 5 bug reports in v1.3 already, which is terrific! This speeding thing should be #6, as it's a beta bug.

I am very surprised. This video is a joke, I do not think it was as sensitive topic :) It's true that I have a lot of fines since beta, lol. bad habits

Nice video, that said I wish people would stop referring to it as a speed limit because it isn't one, when you are going beyond 100 m/s you are speeding, that's not illegal in itself, however it simply means that if you do hit someone, then its your responsibility because you were speeding.

You can still fly as fast as you want, however just be prepared to pay up if you damage someone.

Well, yes, that's the price for speeding and destroying someone, and there should be consequences for such in a place where people dock/come to trade and such, but yeah if you can fly safely and at high speeds, no worries?
