I've been thinking about this for a while now and I think it needs to happen so this evening I will clear save and start again.

I started playing during late Beta and everything seemed a rush, I needed the credits to get a new ship, I needed to do this, that and the other.

This time around I'll take my time and role-play the character that little bit more and enjoy the ride. I'm even going to roll a D10 to pick a faction, leave it in the lap of the gods how I role-play Cula-ta for when 1.3 is released proper.

I've amassed a mere 250 million, so it hasn't been all grind. But this time around it will be zero grind. What's more I'm looking forward to it.
So it's good bye Anaconda, top spec Vulture, Viper, Cobra. It's Good bye type 6 (where the heck did I leave that ship?) and it's goodbye Eagle (I never got to fly it, it was just too far away from my starting location (and therefore pointless)).

Only decision now, what format to play in?

Solo (off-line mode with regular update. Ever positive).
Mobius (because they are a decent bunch of lads)
Open (in for a penny in for a pound)

Nice! Like the lightness with which you approach this, I would go for open en use mobius as a backup if you have problems with grievers or feel like nobody is being social ;)

decided about 2 weeks ago to clear save - the delay to Powerplay was a bit of a pain as I had decided when they announced the delay.

!.3 opens up more of what I want to do from the start ie Smuggle and mining so I'm looking forward to a fresh start.

All I need now is a release date!

It is, but you could start playing in normal and start earning the credits that will bring you home. That's what I'll be doing (once I roll the dice and find out where I'm going)

Beta is separate but you can do some prep work.

I have cleared my save in the live game in preparation for when 1.3 arrives.

Earn some rep for the new base of operations etc



Open or Mobius depending on if you have a group in Mobius who will be working for the same power as you

Ah got you start a new play but not a power play ....
.
My normal base of operation isn't in a power play zone but there is one close by and I'll be travelling through that zone to get to my base so I might as well wait as I will earn power play rep on my travels

OK I did it, but when I start a new character I have the credits from my previous game, all my old ranks and I'm starting in the same location. I guess this is bugged?

Update. Cleared again and I'm back at square one :)

Server Changes:

- Always award powerplay vouchers when destroying NPC trade ships, regardless of any difference in combat skills
- Some neutral systems are now excluded from powerplay
- Fix clearing save games

i was always surprised when see these posts bout clearing saves but lately i can understand why would somebody do that . i also kinda rushed towards big ships and fat wallet so often i forgot to stop and smell the flowers . i would recommend you open play from day one .

Thanks Magot, I am for the time being. Lots of players around, no waves yet though.

Oh and the flowers are worth a sniff
