Elite / Frontier Frontier elite 4 released when?

sooooooooo glad that winter has gone, was thinking of investing in a "truckdrivers friend"
Please develop Elite IV

I tell all my students about the Elite series being the greatest games in all of history, and of this there is no doubt. I think you frontier owes it to humanity to develop Elite IV as a priority given the deluge of formula games in the market today.
There are so many things I would like to see, MMORPG with multiple methods of playing such as app console and pc... Entire generations are lacking in their lives without Elite.
Perhaps releasing an app version of Elite or Frontier will develop a viable market for the next generation release?

That would be great, but to be honest, most of the community probably don't believe it'll happen any time soon.
I just hope it's released before people actually forget what the Elite series was... (admittedly, it's probably too late for "generation gimme" to ever think about getting already..)

I gave up on this forum because I got fed up of the "no comment" attitude from Frontier. I now check this forum about every six months or so, and I see nothing's changed.
I am a big fan of the X series from Egosoft, and I can't help comparing the two companies. Both have space sims in development. Both have forums, where the developers can talk to the fans. That is where the similarity ends.
Egosoft don't just announce they have a new space sim in development, they tell the fans about it, what features it will have, screenshots, what's going on with it's development, everything except possible PC specs.
Frontier tell you ... sweet FA.
Guess which company's forum has more traffic?
Maybe Frontier are waiting to see what Egosoft's new game will offer, I don't know, but Frontier should be saying more than "We will make an announcement when we have something to announce". Why do we have to get news about what Frontier is or isn't doing from other sites?
See you all again in about 6 months, nothing will have changed.

Yep, the enthusiasm on this board has been well and truly drained over the last year/18 months
I just regard it as a place where I can help the occasional newbie with running FE2 or FFE, or comment on anything new that crops up eg. the Frontier Comic, a possible new version of FFE from the Russian guys etc.

I'm starting to agree there. My enthusiasm has completely gone for E4 and I am starting to believe we will never get one and yesother companies do give far more info out there and Frontier's no comment policy is annoying.
At least we have what was released and brilliant open source ones to enjoy.

Elite 4 will not happen, if frontier try it they will bankrupt themselves. Frontier will probably concentrate on dlc exc. For their current range of games, then they will disappear without a trace.
I have lost hope as far as elite 4 goes. It just seems that xbox kinnect games seem to be the main plan of action at the moment and i have found kinnect games to be pretty boring.
However I think if elite 4 were ever to be released it would just be one big disapointment. The hype has been kept open for far too long now with unrealistic expectations and braben popping up every now and again to show he is still alive and saying "yes its still on the cards it is going to happen etc..." that with all of us just sitting here waiting and waiting, keeping busy playing Eve, rogue universe, X-3 etc... when elite 4 comes out it really will be a case of "meh... nothing new, x-3 has more features Rogue universe has better effects and Eve has a better online concept and i don't need a kinnect to play it either.

That's about £250.00 in real money but every one knows you can't play Frontier on A500, you need an A1200
Good point; you'd need a pimped-up 500 to run it on anything but lowest detail
