I think I've seen it mentioned by those in the beta that they think it'll be in the neighborhood of 500k.

All ships in beta seem to be priced at 1% of their actual value, with the Diamondback being ~5.6k. Thus, ~560k seems probable when 1.3 goes live, which is a very plausible price for the ship's specifications and intended niche.

It's barely bigger than a Viper, and is only a marginal upgrade over the Cobra for it's intended role. Pricing it significantly higher than half a million credits doesn't make much sense.

I'd be inclined to believe it. The ship seems to slot somewhere between the cobra and the asp/vulture. And the ship is inferior to the latter based on the beta comments.

What would justify a higher price tag are a larger fsd, power plant, and power distribution system.

Yep, if you do the comparative maths from beta it'll be 4-500K.

It's a small ship, limited cargo, but good weapon placements and range. It is also very manoeuverable,, better than an Asp with a cockpit like the cobra helicopter gunship.

All in all a great little ship and huge fun to fly.

I wish it was about 17 million more expensive. It's basically another cobra with worse shields.

when it was first mentioned in the newsletter, it was mentioned to be around "twice the price of a Type-6" so that would put it around 2 million.

That's the courier, it also is another cobra but with better shields and weapons. Worse in every other way.

I'd pay 20 mil for one if it had a Class 5 FSD.

If you go from the EDS site, it is actually a more combat than trade oriented cobra - shields are slightly stronger in terms of MJ and 2 internal hardpoints are swapped for 2 utility slots.
