Stupid Elite ruining my sick day plans

How am I supposed to plan getting sick if I don't know when 1.3 is to be released? I was all set for tomorrow's launch because I told my boss how sick I was over the weekend and not feeling any better. He told me to take some time off if I don't feel better. Now it looks like it might be next week so the whole two weekends in a row being sick is no longer valid. Anyone know how long scurvy takes to develop? Is uncontrollable farting farting considered an excusable reason?

Eat a tonne of fiber bars, boiled cabbage and a who pack of pro biotic yogurt drinks two days before 1.3 release date, the following day you will gass the office SO BADLY that your boss will send you home, trust me. also as you will probably be crop dusting for a day of two after i advise that you play in a well ventilated room and don't smoke whilst playing.

This thread is getting better by the minute. Must stop giggling, though - the wife's trying to fall asleep next to me....

Never needed an excuse. I just call out when I wanted the time, since I always go to work sick. Why waste a day home sick, the heck with that...someone at work made me sick..so I'm going to return the favor. Sick days are for doing stuff, not hanging around the house waiting to get better!

Okay, how about this?

I don't eat sushi and my boss/co-workers know it. I tell them next week that I am trying sushi for the first time. I send them an e-mail at 3am PST and tell them I am sweating and have bad cramps. Next thing BOOM! explosive diarrhea, sweats, chills and shakes. I mention that the sushi tasted real fishy and my understanding is that sushi isn't supposed to taste like that. I also mention that my wife is feeling the same way. I get a couple of days to play and my wife gets a new Coach purse or D&B purse from QVC. Either way I come out a winner.

Of course, I could also just tell my boss I am working from home but that seems too easy. I need to step up my game.

Just tell your boss you've got runs. No one dares to question the runs.

This is, strangely enough, true.

I took an entire week off one year to play Shadowbane when they reset all the servers. Called in a few days in a row complaining that I had a stomach bug and everything was just going right through me, so the boss told me to take the rest of the week off 'to get my pipes clean'. LOL

Sometimes, truth really is stranger than fiction! :D

Food poisoning can take a while to manifest so if using it as an excuse it'd be better if you "ate the food" the day before. Maybe a family BBQ with undercooked food? I guess you need good weather for that though. ;)

I worked with someone who wanted time off doe the SWTOR launch so the days prior made a song and dance of how he was going to be cooking a chicken curry for the first time, then on the day he could call in sick from his own cooking.
He was living with his mum so the story of him trying cooking a curry for the first time was quite believable thing to make thing about.

Laying the groundwork, smart guy. ;)
