I told my boss that I had inherited Diarrhea. He said he didn't think that was possible, but I assured him that it ran in my jeans.

Food poisoning can take a while to manifest so if using it as an excuse it'd be better if you "ate the food" the day before. Maybe a family BBQ with undercooked food? I guess you need good weather for that though.

Are you implying that the British won't have a barbeque just because it's raining? I take it you dwell in far sunnier climes sir.............

I figured I'd get one or two days out of it before someone got grumpy. I never expected he'd tell me to take the week, but I wasn't going to complain! LOL

Not sure I'd ever do a marathon like that again though. While we managed to farm enough to start two cities in short order, that was exhausting.

How am I supposed to plan getting sick if I don't know when 1.3 is to be released? I was all set for tomorrow's launch because I told my boss how sick I was over the weekend and not feeling any better. He told me to take some time off if I don't feel better. Now it looks like it might be next week so the whole two weekends in a row being sick is no longer valid. Anyone know how long scurvy takes to develop? Is uncontrollable farting farting considered an excusable reason?

I've got dynamically adjusting 'working from home days', mind you I have been using that a lot when playing the Beta as well...

I think we could cook some sort of serious ailment up, but there might be ... well "consequences" you know..."Do not pass start" ... "In Memoriam" you get the feel...
So I would not recommend this route.
A safer route is "the passing relative" route, but it can really only be used once, twice from a statistical view.
How about appeal to your Boss , that you have Elite Withdrawal Syndrome ?

Intestinal constipation was the most effective aliment that I was ever unfortunate to experience. Stomach cramps and 7 days of insomnia. You do tend to loose your mind but it got me a fortnight off work (not intentionally). All caused by too much rare steak and fine wines. Opposite end of the spectrum I recommend eating a whole packet of prunes...military grade flatulence guaranteed.
