for those not keen on christmas

Christmas is not the time to be Jolly but it is the time to watch Dr Who!

Dr Who's Tardis has been temporarily suspended from travel, due to high winds, rain, & wet leaves being sucked into all time portals, in England Wales & Scotland.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

I'm making a Christmas Pud using Brandy or maybe Whisky...haven't decided yet, still tasting the liquor to see what might work best...so the former statement might be 'slightly' exaggerated ...'hic!' ;) :D

Jack :)

Old pagan festival, has zip to do with christianity, and a sad excuse for salesmen to sell you stuff you don't need .. Its a shame it's become a commercial holiday ..
I think the fact that it is an older holiday than Christianity actually makes it more worthy of being honoured. After all, it is something that many humans have been doing for thousands of years.

We have all these exciting traditions from Saturnalia (e.g. christmas tree, gift giving) and other festivals bundled up in a nice package.

And it is really up to each of us how commercial we are willing to make it.

Me too.

Xmas however .. load of nonsense .. Old pagan festival, has zip to do with christianity, and a sad excuse for salesmen to sell you stuff you don't need .. Its a shame it's become a commercial holiday ..

Could I interest you in a fabulous festive new T-shirt, mug or mousemat with that printed on it? It makes the ideal Christmas gift for all the family. :D

And cynicism is so great, that the advertisements often begin two months in advance. And we reach highs in horror when we see that people resell their gifts after the festivities

 :)

I agree completely with point 1)

but point 2).... not so much. I am all for commercial holidays!

I would say now pass the mince pies and a beer, but am still stuck at work
