Finding other players

I found lot's of noobs in the starting system(in sidewinders) but that's really it. The game (imo) is a bit de-tached with everything done via a ui menu, it would be fun to get into scrapes with other players but i can't find any. Shooting noobs for no reason get's old.
How do you all find other players? How much luck have people had catching a player mining op in progress or hunting down player traders or wings? I want to be a pirate and find other players to raid..(hi).

Move from the starter systems. Most RES I have been in have other players.

As a trader I shouldn't help you, but try the "south" rares systems. Fujin, Witchhaul, 39 Tauri, George Pantazis("George P" finds it in map!) etc. Loads of CMDRs around there about half an hour ago, and I had a load of juicy rares. Offline now, but same time tomorrow? Bring your grappling hook and rubber gloves.

community goal locations
old world systems (lave, leesti, diso, zaonce)
rares route
famous systems - Sol, Alioth, Achenar
keep an eye on Galnet, news about a system usually means heightened CMDR activity
Silk Road

I assume after 1.3, Powerplay capitals & contested systems will also get busier

If you are looking for targets then you might want to head over to the Leesti System, in particular hang around the George lucas Station. You should find enough action there.

I tend not to see many other players on my travels. Over the past month or so I've covered a fair bit of distance exploring and trading across Federation and Empire space and have seen a few other players. The most frequent encounters have happened in the Empire but there are occasionally a few to be found out and about.

It seems that with all the Sag* A threads on the boards recently that the best place to find most human Commanders would be the centre of the galaxy!

Just depends on your personal triggers....percieved rudeness can be construed as such...a little more patience and explanation might get you a wingmate though.

RES sites should provide you with bounty hunters galore that would probably like some PVP action.
The only problem is you will have to attend to system authority after attacking a fully equipped bounty hunter that didn't respond to your comms.

Look i don't go around blasting noobs to pieces, it's not how i spend my time playing the game, it was part-joke, so don't get all thorny. More a reference that i'm finding little of substance to do in the game. (I really play for the player/player interaction.)

I'm headed to 'George P' now, thx for the heads up. I came across Teegarden and thought i had to stop in to have a look around with a name like that.

I just got to George Patanzis (sp?), and after docking at melvins hangar (i think thats the name of it)... The station started shooting at me, pew, pew pewpewpew, pew etc. I thought it must be some glitch like the ones you used to see. Anyways i had a 300cr fine for knocking into a control tower and spilling the atc team-chief's coffee, i thought i better go pay it off. So i pay it then take off, and in a matter of seconds im reduced to ash. Oh well that's what a lingering 300CR fine will get you?? Ouch. So i logged off..

Still haven't seen a player.

I'll be back on later to see if there are some ppl around.(hmm Maybe..)
