FD started out so very good, now there just another gaming company, doing an ostrich imitation, and not getting involved. To this day I'm still wondering why they didn't put equivalent rewards in the group or solo options. I think the trend here is pretty obvious.

This is simply me talking, I'm just one guy, not trying to start some stupid movement or anything like that. Just saying good bye for my friends.:D

I'd just say, don't let them wear you down. We can all play the game however we want, and we should continue to do so... :)

I'm probably not far behind you mate. I don't think I'll uninstall just yet - my friends are still playing, occasionally - but I'm rapidly losing the will to even care. I'm waiting to see if DB has anything encouraging to say later in the AMA. Not holding my breath though if I'm honest.

Hey W0OCQCK,

I've been lurking here for some time now. I just wanted to post to say that I'm sorry to see you go as I always enjoyed your posts on both this thread and its predecessor. And to also mention that maybe you could pop in again once Star Citizen releases, as I have a strong suspicion that a lot of the "pew pew" open-only crowd will migrate once that's out...and leave the rest of us to enjoy ED in peace. ;)

Personally, the only reason I use solo mode is to avoid large ship bullies. If the solo mode allowed full interaction with the game but prevented human on human combat then the difference could go away. Maybe event prevent combat status progression within the solo mode?

sorry to see you go, but that being said, are you not throwing the baby out with the bathwater here? Solo will still work exactly like it has always worked, and private groups can still be exactly what you want them to be.

rather than ditch the game, it may be better just to ditch the forum :)

either way hope you come back in a few months and see if anything has changed. fly safe cmdr... even if its not in a space ship!

I have to admit, the more I read this particular thread the more my enthusiasm for the game dies. My mood wasn’t helped this morning seeing a mod jump on the Open bandwagon and another player suggesting that there should be no ranks in solo.


Having people constantly tell me that “play it you way” is in fact, “play it their way” is killing my enthusiasm.
I am however hopeful that that FD will never totally relegate Solo/Group to 2nd class player status. If they do, well, they need me more as a customer than I need them for a game. At some point, there will be other dedicated pew pew space sims out there that do combat much better and the pew pew crowd will have a new toy to play with. I’m sure FD know this and will never abandon us. I just hope it won’t be too late.

Good job it has more reward, by letting people team up with friends and have others to talk to and share your game time with.

It also gets all the real life competitions as well.

Thats a lot of rewards for just one mode, hope Solo/Groups get their rewards increased to match soon, it's not fair you open guys get so much.
