After sending the last two days just reading posts...In the not to distant future we are going to received a brand spanking new FREE (wonderful-ling sounding) FREE (did I mention FREE) updated version 1.3 nic-named powerplay. More then one person has spent a great deal of time, effort and money programing. Free right? Maybe a few more of you 13 yr olds should learn to appropriate your parent's hard earned efforts to coddle you by giving you things that they didn't have growing up. Did I mention FREE update? Hmmmm I wonder how many FREE updates wow GAVE away. OH that is right wow called them expansions that COST real money, But who cares you didn't earn it. Anyway if I don't like a game I move on. It is called voting with your feet (or wallet). In the free enterprise system that is how it works. supply and demand. If there is NO demand then hmmmmm what happens to supply? I do appreciate that there is a forum to post idea's. Please to those of you that are haters and trollers stop whining. ED /FD has been around since the mid 80's. That is longer then a lot of computer games. Anyone still play pong? donkey konk?

Second note: To those of you that express "concern" about solo vs private vs open. I play games to get away from life. Why do I care how SOMEONE plays? (except CHEATERS that bother me in open play) I choose to play the way I want because there are the different modes. I have been hit by cheaters. I love pvp but when someone hits my shields twice with a pulse laser an they go down something isn't right. CG's in the open with that stuff going one where is the fun. I get being topped and stomped. That is the joy of pvp. Simply being crushed, where is the honor an fun in that? ever watch a cat PLAY with a mouse. Now that is FUN. I am glad at times to have FUN companions to join in a wing with if I want to.

Third note : 10% loss on module use. What other games u know you can "sell" back you inventory? wow? hmmm wasn't that called the auction house? what were those marvelous purples that once you put them on u couldn't sell back?

Forth note: Come on guys. We that play this game have at least one thing in common compare to all the people on this planet. This game. You guys, all of you (for the most part) are a great bunch of guys an gals. I love meeting (virtually) people from different cultural s from all over the world right from my little itty bitty office. It wasn't that long ago that this wasn't possible. Good luck to all you Commanders an safe flight. ;)


I am sorry if a really offended anyone. I believe those folks that cheat will get their cumupins (not sure of the spelling) someday. Just you wait 'enry 'iggins just you wait...:p

Continued updates to the core game, just as they announced it when they released a bare bones 1.0 back in december (which by the way wasn't free).
I already paid for all of this, what was your point again ?

Umm, Just gunna kick your soapbox down a notch and say that Vanilla WOW had dozens of Free to download patches that added new major content. And while yes, They've released 4 expansions that were paid for, each expansion also had several free to download patches that added new major content.


Anyway, didn't mean to de-rail the thread, Carry on ranting!

NO, it's not "free." we paid for the game up front. They implemented changes that are integral to the game, they obviously can't charge for it. (and no, I'm not a 13 yo, I'm past mid life, family, kids, and a career... and I STILL think there would be ZERO basis to charge us for 1.3). Jesus, just imagine the outrage if they actually charged for 1.3 .. and I gurantee it wouldn't be from the 13yos playing the game, but from the 30/40 crowd ... NExt point please.

You realize you've completely missed the point, right? You realize that practically NO ONE is complaining about a 10% tax, right? and the debate is about play style, module storage... ehh. whatever, devs came down on our side, for now at least ...
.

And, I don't know what purple thing you're referring to, but every modern multiplayer game in this or a similar genre allows you to sell back components, and to store them. so.... NEXT!

Should you also be thankful to all the people you meet in the streets for being honest people and not robbing you?

Of course the updates are free, FD advertised a game in great details in various dev diaries and through other media, and that's what we spent our (minimum) 50€ for. Now the game isn't quite in the state David hyped us for, so it's fair to expect that they'll keep at it for some time. You can be glad that they aren't running with our money, but asking for gratitude might be a bit over the top.
