Any chance of a clarification on whether unclaimed exploration data will be lost when PowerPlay drops? David didn't give an unequivocal no when asked this question in the AMA?

I think it's pretty clear it only affects missions, why would they wipe exploration data?

The "I don't think so at least" part is the clue as it appears to reflect that he has no knowledge of any plans to do so.

A more solid confirmation would certainly be appreciated. I'm getting a little nervous seeing this talk all of the sudden, I'm halfway through my first exploratory journey and i'd hate to have to rush back now.
Everything I've read says mission data will be wiped due to how they are going to change and exploration data will remain as is.
Hmmm. My understanding was that there was only going to be a mission wipe and I hadn't considered that there was going to be anything happening to unsold exploration data. However, I only play on and off and have been away from human space since before Wings landed. I would appreciate a clear answer as David's response wasn't unequivocal and got me a bit jittery!

I doubt they'd do that, would they? Some people have got months of collected data, with a great deal of time invested.
When is beta going live does anyone know yet? Maybe I should start heading back though, am 50k out and hear talk of new exploration ships with guns. Could start getting scarey out here soon.

Still, I would like clarification on David's reply. It's the old risk = hazard x chance conundrum. While I expect it was a slip by David and so the chance is very low, the hazard of me losing four months of exploration data is extremely high.

I think your safe Doc, but if it is really nagging at you sell data now or fly back if your out in the black and sell just to be on the safe side, it's all in the reflexes.
Trouble is I think my time would better spent helping test the beta, rather than a mad scramble across the galaxy - only to have to wander back out again!
