You know, another method to dupe those pirates is to simply announce over chat that you have free cargo and for them to come and get it. Worked last night when I offered free beer. Ended up having a rather amusing exchange with the pirate and we both went our separate ways.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Interesting teaser bit:

If you look at the page source for the countdown clock you'll see the following text -

PA system failure has occured.
Shutdown of the rain has been authorized and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes.

Federal/Imperial navy interdictions

Hi all.
I've been trying to find more information about the navy interdictions, but couldn't get much about it.
I'm getting a lot of navy interdictions lately and they seem bugged or without reason.
Why are they happening, if there isn't even a scan performed.
I'm currently friendly with the empire and even then they do quite a lot of interdictions, which seem rather pointless to me.
Does anyone know more about this?

Are you in any contested areas with ongoing conflicts? I was under the impression its areas like that where navy patrols interdict. Im no expert but thats just the general feeling i had for it based on when its happened to me.

Yes now that you mention it, one system is contested.
But shouldn't there be some more happening than just an interdiction? perhaps a scan or something else?

Yeah... the System Defense Forces...
They primarily interdict in Systems with active Conflicts.

From memory, I remember they were actually placed in the Game to afford the Systems a better response escalation against rampaging Players inside them.
Due to several issues (i.e. them missing an FSDI and/or KWS), they've basically been disabled more or less (and I presume intentionally so, if it was an accident it would have been very easily fixable).

The only thing remaining is their Interdiction (but fail to scan) activity in those Conflict Systems.
You can usually check their SubSystems to spot their missing equipment parts...

Thanks, i will do that next time that i get interdicted.

Possible combat log confusion during interdiction?

Combat Logging - A NEW Technique

Lately however players have been submitting to my interdictions, but when I drop into normal space they're not there. This has happened repeatedly at Diso and Lave. It's possible that this is just a network/matchmaking issue...but... Thoughts?

Yesterday I was interdicted in Leesti (not by you, but I think I saw you in the instance). My attacker claimed I cheated. I use Nvidia Shadowplay and I've watched my video recording. A possible explanation is that he interdicted me at the same time that I did an emergency drop from supercruise. I wonder if this can (depending on lags) show him an interdiction which completes with no sign of his victim?

Here's the annotated video: http://youtu.be/fhX_bhmGUZ4

will be good to know who is going to interdirect you, and i managed to run any interdirections, so what is the point of doing it by navy?

and why i should submit to navy interdirection if there is no prons or cons to do so

Your evasion strategy was good and there was no indication of him tethering you, he probably based his accusation on you disappearing from his radar when you emergency dropped. The fact he let you boost away from the first interdiction when he is flying an FDL is surprising anyway, maybe he isn't very good at power management. Or, as you say, maybe lag was the culprit.

You already know my feelings on this game Jenner ;).....one of my all time favorite gaming franchises, this will be a straight buy on day of release for sure! :)

Am I the only one disappointed with the look of the gfx in the trailer? The characters look like ps3 quality to me.

I wouldn't say disappointed. In comparison to earlier games in the franchise it looks better - little touches like outside view visible through the windows etc. - in comparison to best in class today it's OK, but not astounding.

What will be more important is how much they have taken on board from mods for the previous games to enhance the whole feeling - weather, time cycles, crafting depth, etc. NV was a step up in this respect from 3, so if 4 does the same again plus with better graphics - well, I'll buy it on early release anyway :)
