How many people are getting a diamondback and heading out?

Hamilton Gateway in Wolf 406 should have them at 20% off. I haven't had a chance to get in game and buy one yet, but we did have a community goal for it, so it should be there.

Only the Explorer version is 20% off... about 1.4 million. The Scout version is standard price at 550k

yeah i don't know which Princess to side with.

Well, since there's only one real princes... The other is a princess in name only, thanks to media moguls (maybe herself? Naive though she may be, she knows her way around PR) trying to pass her off as a legitimate successor.

Well for me they are the best choices for the Empire in my mind. I'd perfer Arissa over Asling.

The scout makes a grate space taxi... gotta move my fleet to my HQ
the explorer makes a good allrounder rares and pirate ship...

I think I will keep my asp for the deep voyages though

I'm actively considering it.
The ASP is better, and the T6 has it's merits in terms of efficiency, but the DBE looks cool.

As I just mentioned in another thread (didn't spot this one!)

I just found a station in Imperial space selling all 3 new ships...

Get over to Tarter Dock in Macuayan.

You can thank me later :)

Got my Diamondback Explorer at Wolf 409 for 1.5 Mill bucks. There is a discount on both variants. They even sold there class 2 and class 3 burts turrets. But only class 4B reactors. The rest you can get A class there. Overall it costs me around 12 mill bucks to fit it out. With amour. Have 25.xx ly jumprange and 36 tons cargospace. Nice rare runner thar little beast with punch if you need it. Installed a class 4A shield and one class A shield booster. KWS scanner class D and point defense turret.

You can buy both variants also at Mokosh (Fed space) but without discount. The Explorer cost there 1.7 mill bucks. You can get there all A class equiment.

You should consider waiting a little while before heading out; a lot of explorers are getting server connection error every other jump atm.

Defienetly wait, Iam stuck out there in my Dimondback Explorer, and cant get in,
Error message: "Unable to load commander data"

Well I was saving to get a fully equiped Asp and some but the price of the Diamond back plus its capabilities might just turn my head

I just kitted out my Imperial Courier and I'll be heading out this week-end sometime ^.^ Or when things settle down anyway. I managed to squeeze out 25.45LY jump range with an additional fuel tank, of course it's not the best but it will do just fine for what i have in mind. I'd really like a dedicated exploring ship from Gutamaya, there's nothing like traveling in style. Not sure if we'll ever see that day though...

If you're going to get a Lakon cockpit view for exploring, you might as well use your Asp... I don't see much the point of the the DB explorer unless you're on a tight budget. Don't get me wrong, the hull design is great, and the way the wings move when you land is very catchy, but I really dislike the standard Lakon cockpit, I see it way enough on my T9.

Just some info, the diamondback scout turns on a dime, is fast, and well armed, and scans in half the time, the explorer version handles like a type 6, turns slowly, scanning seems to take bit longer, something strange tho, with the diamondback I was getting dropped out and had to log back on, I haven't experienced this so far with the explorer.

When I first started playing one of the first GalNet stories I read was talking about Arissa investigating the assassination attempt, taking it to pirate trying to find information about the plot. She seemed like someone I could really get behind (phrasing, boom! - sorry, been watching a lot of Archer lately). The more I read, the more I liked her. I'd love to support her in more than just the CGs, but I don't really feel like having ~90% of known space off at me. =-\

Why are you packing an A-rank life support system? The band of space where 25 minutes will save you and 7.5 minutes won't is relatively thin.

In terms of power consumption (not that you're hurting for it) you're better off with two Es than one D shield booster, and you're not lacking for utility space.

AMFUs should be turned off unless they're repairing, so you should probably be using the biggest one you can afford (maybe you are).

Fully loaded your fit is (and most non-stripped-down fits of the D-back-E would be) just slightly under (over) even A-rank thrusters.

I really wish this ship was 48 or 58 tons lighter in the hull and split the class 2 internal slot into two class 1s. It makes absolutely no sense that almost all the equipment slots and internal slots are smaller than an Asps, but the hull is 18 tons heavier.
