No more Anaconda in RES ? Nerfed ?

The Anacondas all seem to be flying about in the Powerplay expansion areas. Did some combat against corrupt system defence at a crime sweep and it was Condas, Clippers and Pythons all the way. After racking up 50 kills I reported back to base for a reward of 50 merits and 5k credits.

May have paid part of the fuel cost to get there, but a good indicator of how pointless and futile it is wasting time in powerplay.

Haven't seen any Anacondas except the police ships. That said, I am getting on average 30K per kill of Vipers, Adders and such. In a high intensity Res site, you can rake in some credits pretty quick, and my overall was about the same. I get drop ships, clippers and Pythons regularly, and unlike before, it's not a "this or that" scenario now. No one wanted to be infested iwth 1200Cr sideys, and would instead reset instances to all big ships with occasional wings of smaller mosquitoes. Now we have a mix, as it should be, and it's not as predictable.

Some people want a farming system, some want a game. I want a game. I couldn't care less about the Cr/hr grind as long as I can play the game and not run out of funds by

doing what the game offers.

Well said.

They do need to increase the monetary rewards from a crime sweep to something approaching what you get from a conflict zone really while taking into
account the weekly wage you get from the power (although that aint much unless you play 24/7 :) and get on the 5 mill a week)

if you don't care to invest a little time to locate a nice hunting ground like i explained instead of going to the nearest RES then maybe trading is more for you.
bounty hunting can be more profitable than before if done right, but trading also got its buffs.

I took your advice, and took some time too look around.
Ended up in a RES for about 45 mins, made 1.4mil credits or so (excluding KWS).
Big ships were Clippers (60%, highest payout 115k), Pythons (20%, highest payout 146k), Dropships (20%, 40k or so)

No Anacondas, but not much in the way of local security ships ie. none.

The old res full of big juicy ships were great for increasing your riches, but it was much too easy and unrealistic. For anyone in a strong anaconda it was like clay pigeon shooting. Power play has bought more challenges more opportunity and more realism which is great.

Did you happen to notice if all that killing changed your Combat rank percentage? (mine hasn't moved yet - despite a fair bit of bloodshed)

If you're in an Anaconda, your opinion is invalid - bounty hunters apparently don't get to earn the cash for Anacondas anymore. Same for anybody in a Python - even a FDL seems like it would take ~100 hours to earn your way into now.

Bounty Hunting in a RES used to be, by far, the most fun aspect of the game and you were well rewarded for it. Now there's nothing to fight there and no money to be had. It seems like 1.3 has just made the game worse for anybody that's not already in a 200 million credit ship.

I did bounty hunting for about 12h today, in Empire space.

It seems like Pythons & Clipper RES are nearly non-existent, and I didn't see any Anaconda !

I'm tired to reset RES every 2 min, FD, did you nerf the RES spawn ?
Is this to promote PP mission ?
Do I really have to trade like a robot to have Cr ?

Also, High Intensity RES are stupid and full of Eagle.

Yeap, same. High RES seem to be full of low bounty ships (Sidewinder, Eagles and some Vipers). Anacondas or even Pythons, Clippers and Dropships are nowhere to be found anymore.

Good job DESTROYING Bounty Hunting FD...

Ah it's good to know that each kill would net me 100 bloody credits before I decided to pledge to Arissa.
So far I haven't seen any wanted condas in RES, but they do show up a little bit at Nav Beacons and a lot at CZ. I killed one Mostly Harmless today at Nav Beacon and it was worth 100k, not bad in terms of money.
Right now it seems to me the payout at high intensity RES is dropped to almost the same as Nav Beacons or CZ, about 1 mil per hour. This number doesn't sound very balanced.

your opinion is invalid -

your opinion about his opinion being invalid is in fact invalid since an opinion is an opinion and can never be invalid.

yea i know, i think i made my own head spin like 10 turns whit that one :p
but an opinion is merely a statement that someone holds true and can by that nature never be valid or invalid, it can only be more or less relevant. :)

anyways, the average coin/hour for bounty hunting has only gone up whit 1.3 and not down, and i think on average you can do 3m/h whit a vulture, 4m/h whit effort while it was around 2m/h prepatch.
you will only find that the coin/hour has gone down if you persist on treating the RES sites like pre-patch.

adapt and move on and search for richer grounds. :)

edit: oh and i kind of posted an idiots guide for that too in this thread in case you would find adapting difficult ;)

they really need to stop buffing the game.
instead create more content to buy in game because making it from 200 hours to get a anaconda to 300 doesnt make the game more better or "longer"; creating items like more ships, ship customization, ship interiors, armor ect. is what should be done instead to make more incentives for people to waste money before reaching the top end ship.
ive already bought my anaconda, type 9, orca and some other ships. ive reached my end game so far: now im just waiting for a expansion to come out. about time we have planetary landings and all that.

Yes the crime sweep are full of condas, pythons, vultures etc.... but no credit for the kills. You get those vouchers, and for killing a Sidewinder, you get one commendation ... the same amount goes for a Conda... makes no sense.

Also with the Ship Integrity bug flying and BH or even jumping 4 systems will cost you (what your repair screen while in station) depending on ship (*Python here) and % lost a huge amount of money. I went RES hunting yesterday night, made not even a million (743.000cr) and had to pay 890.000cr only on Ship Integrity costs, plus ammo for my cannon, and fuel and I was lucky not ever loosing my shields, if not I would have made a lose.

Today after doing some powerplay stuff I did lose some huge amount of cr and decided to stop playing until the bugs are fixed, and if not stop playing all together for good. As it does not make sense having to deal with following scenarios:

1) have more cost then income due to the Ship Integrity Repair cost for lets say a Python each 30 min or 4 jumps (4 jumps is 1% integrity lose)
2) having to take high paying missions for a enemy faction in the system that you pledged to, which drops your repututation (not a good thing trust me on this one).
3) RES, the only one I saw was in a Anarchy system that I was in and the flies were just small ships, I entered several times (jump in and out over and over) to see if different ships would spawn (no I am not in a +20 security system)
4) Now Pythons and even clippers take a lot more to kill (nice for the entertainment, but not for the effort vs $$)
5) Assasination missions have not changed that much from being a time sink as before you had to jump into USS now its USS and Supercruise. Same amount of time, and to top it off the target has wings and is hard as hell. So, to tell you the truth, its still not worth doing them.
6) delivery mission, take one (1) unit of bio waste from A to B is the only thing that pays better now then before.
7) pirate stuff has become a huge buff as you have now the option to find Black Markets and the ships drop nice loot in High RES when you hit them. Go into a Anarrchy RES hunt everything and capture the goods. Fly out with goods and the kills if applicable. Still not worth the time and effort

To end this rant, I am a Baron (Empire) and Ensign (FED) and a master Rank with the guild and have not seen anything that makes me want to sit longer infront of this game then 10 min anymore, whereas in 1.2 I spend hours playing and flying around.

Evidently somebody has spent so much time bounty hunting he kind-of passed over the fact that this WAS an expansion, albeit a free one, complete with new game mechanics, new entire styles of play, new types of events, new objectives, and no less than three new ships (which were supposed to be two, but some of us made the mistake of giving them negative feedback about the Scout and getting one of our quota of 30 ships spent on a variant of it...)

If you choose to do nothing but hunt bounties in res, then that's all you'll find to do, no matter what they release.

I absolutely love the Imperial Courier. My 'Conda is in mothballs for a long, long time.

I am really happy for you, as flying anything bigger then a Vulture will cost you millions every few jumps. I have stopped playing as of today, until they fix the game, and make it playable for casual players.

Remember when Mike stated Minning is being buffed, yes a High RES is now the playground for miners, not BH. Imagine this a miner has no weapons and these flies come and hit the miner, for the miner that is a thrill trust me, for us in Pythons its boring as hell.

Now if we part take in the power play no money is gained and the cost (ship repair, Ship integrity bug, Fuel, etc) its just not worth it. I have seen where people are not giving a damn about reputation and going for the money mission no matter which side it is, this will hunt you if you pledge for a power or if you want to stay for a big in a system on the long run.

The Idea of Powerplay was nice but after listening to people in Beta I already knew it would be bad, but playing 24h into the live game, I have to say, its worth then what I have heard.

I did one of these today although it was 250k for 6 pirates, entered first USS, found 6 pirates including master conda and 3 police. Did the whole thing in one hit, 400k bounties on top of 250k reward. Much more fun than trading or res.

Also had some great warzone missions which has given excellent return. Think they are trying to move people out of farming.

Resource extraction Sites, are and were always ment for miners. It was impossible for miners to go into them and work, but it was great for us fighters to go into them and grind cr.

Now having that said and what you mentioned in your post, I have also seen that they want us out of the Anaconda ships, Pythons, and Dropships. etc. They want us in little small ships taking on a fight and making money, it takes longer and its more challanging, but I am being puinished for flying a Python setup as a weapons platform rather tthen a trading vessel...

Also what kills me is the Ship integrity repair price bug (maybe intentional) that every 4 jumps it costs you a 1% repair, huge amount of money sink, I was thinking of flying back to where my Cobra is but changed my mind... have my laptop open and Diablo III is already loading.

Good Bye FD

seriously, RES sites are still viable money makers.
Don't expect the first RES you find to be like old 1.2 ones. Find a system with high pirate/criminal faction.

As for the Integrity Cost of player's big ships.. This is a *bug* and hopefully patched soon. (My Python is at 87%)

i am still doing tests, but i can give you guys a quick rundown on how i find my condas.
first off leave the core systems, you do not want any competition from other bounty hunters, since bounty hunting seems to have more of an impact on local security now.
look for a system that has a strong criminal faction, criminal factions seems to have higher rating than rebelling factions when it comes to bounties and ship tiers.
search for anarchy system strong holds and look in the systems around them, not in them.
this is because ideally you want the system to be in a bit of turmoil while the anarchy systems them selfs are often pretty stable and unopposed.
what you want to find is a system where the criminal faction has around 40-50% influence, whit a few minor factions that oppose them that will add local bounties to your KWS scans.

system geography also seem to play part, but i am not sure to what degree yet and i am still testing.
i have a feeling that for example high intensity RES sites in a metallic belt further out in the solar system is better then a pristine one that is closer to the star.
i have also had good results in binary systems when hunting around the secondary star.

also be vary of the power influence and avoid any territory that has a security buff (this is important), like for example Hudson's federal systems that increase security by 20% , however it might be worth checking out his imperial systems as they holds a 40% security debuff.
even better is Delains systems where all security is cut whit 50% !!
and Lavigny's systems provide a 20% bonus to bounties
but it could also be wise to hunt outside the power realms if you want the big game like condas, as more hunters means less game.

Great info, thanks. Pretty much what i suspected, but good to see someone who has actually seen it confirm it.

Time will tell though. The pessimist in me says the narrative is that players pledge to some power and it works from there, earning credits becoming a means to an end, not an end in and of itself. That means those who got in early have a nice fat cash bankroll and the new players who came after 1.3 will be stuck with Sideys scrapping in res sites for pennies. They'll pledge and do some missions and maybe become traders or miners, and the game maybe balances out (though irking a few players who leave for more pew pew elsewhere). Ideally there would be a decent bell shaped curve with the majority of players being traders, explorers and miners, and the fringes being pirates and bounty hunters. If that's indeed the narrative ti's probably going to bore me. I knew this was a bit of a role playing game, but it offered the opportunity to ignore that and do what I wanted without repercussions. In fact, part of the fun in this game was that I had no idea what was going on in the next system or why, so going there was exploring. Now you have a soap opera happening where you know what the systems are about before you even go, even if you've never been. It makes things a bit different, and if you don't pledge, then you're still stuck with the remnants of the update that changed, nerfed or buffed the aspects of the game you actually liked.

I mean, who complained about having too many big ships in Res sites? Someone who sits at the computer all day every day and has billions of credits and doesn't want others catching up? I don't get the need for that change.

Did you happen to notice if all that killing changed your Combat rank percentage? (mine hasn't moved yet - despite a fair bit of bloodshed)

It has changed a bit since Powerplay started, done a bit of conflict zone and RES to scrape some cash together and its gone from 13% to 17% so far (currently Expert).

To put it simple, if that is true and intended by FD, that is silly.

You point at factors that were never mentioned in the update announcements what you say is hardly logical based on game mechanics and as you admitted getting to know all this required "testing" from you and even though you seem to be really devoted to it, you still haven't got most of these things clear.

Now, how would a regular player find out about all this?

The whole RES thing is probably bugged or the changes were not explained to the gamers well enough.

I agree the previous system was in many ways flawed, but if a new one was to be introduced, I'd expect the devs to tell us simply what was going to change. Instead, the high intensity RES was announced as be dangerous place etc. Not a location where you can find 2 police condas, 3 adders, 1 mining asp and 1 cobra with 30K bounty (if you're lucky)

So nice effort but for me - something's probably wrong.
