No more 1.3 Oculus Rift Raff

Dude, I didn´t want to offend you like that but yea I thought you got hung up on sharpness and cared for none else, really sorry.
I did compare the versions but didn´t find the difference too bad. Text allways looks crap on the DK2 and I´m able to read planetary descriptions from the system map in 1.3, so thats about the smallest text I need in ED. I do get thou that you might be used to much higher standards (better HW) and the impact is much more visible on your system.

Last build my game was completely broken until the 3rd patch and I really needed my ED fix. it´s super annoying at times but beeing here since august and seeing how they do that that every single time with a big update you just stop to care really. will get fixed, allways has been..

7k PC + 3DK2´s? thats crazy! would you care to elaborate on the specs?

Just packed in the best of everything as of last year... Water cooled and oc'd to the max :)
Do a lot of VR demos and work with my students over in Saudi, hence the number of Dk2's.

Since the upgrade to 1.3 I have noticed an improvement in the speed of head movement is better but I'm getting large very black areas of space outside my cockpit window which weren't there before and if I look in the shadow areas of my cockpit the graphics are poor, I don't know what the technical terms are but it has spoilt the graphics I had before the upgrade at the expense of the better movement. I have been putting a piece of paper over the sensor at the top of my screen and this stops the 'black' areas appearing but then makes everything a bit grey and head tracking is obviously reduced.
I don't understand all this DSR and CC stuff in this thread, is there something on my PC called SWEETFX that I should adjust.
This is spoiling the experience for me at the moment, I like the graphics to be the best in the rift. I've tried changing settings but the only one that seems to have an effect on this problem is the GAMMA slider, but set to maximum it still doesn't quite clear these 'dark' areas. It's apparent even at the spinning station stage when loading, the left hand side of the planet is very poor quality.
Sitting in the ship in a space station with full lighting removes all the shadows and you can tell straightaway that the graphics are improved in 1.3 but the darker shadows are terrible.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try setting gamma, brightness and contrast correctly.

First things first; did you follow the steps in this guide? https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=121355

It might not be that, I kinda got this problem myself yesterday. It was just randomly really dark, and yesterday it wasn't. I wasn't playing for long so I didn't go into it but I'll see what's what and get back to you

Turns out my issue was that the colour and resolution settings in nvcp wouldn't apply in the game. I restarted the PC and it's working now, didn't try restarting the oculus service. I think it's a driver issue , I'm using the latest drivers
