Can some please explain for the slow and old smugglers of the galaxy in simlpe terms?

To quote myself a day or so ago:

Now I worry they're gonna retroactively fix that bug and make smuggling unviable again...

Thanks FD for messing up again. At least you could have stayed with the first nerf (and YES 8000/t was a too high). But why nerf it again? For what reason?

Smuggling just became interresting and now you hit all of us in the face. You basically want all of us to switch back to normal trading and bounty hunting because there is nothing else that is profitable atm. Just 2 possible ways to earn a lot of money in a sandbox game.

On topic - I really hope this is a mistake on the devs part, have been waiting for smuggling to become good since gamma. Why would they screw it up again?

OK, mistakes happen but why has balancing roles been so difficult for FD?

Is it because there are so many variables involved (especially when you factor in the economy and missions) or are they mucking it up?
