Ship Builds & Load Outs Combat with small ships

Hi I was wondering about best (weapon) load outs for small (up to vulture) combat ships. Also which one is the best NOT including vulture out of: Imperial Courier, Diamondback scout and viper. Thanks! :)
 
For CZ's and RES hunting, i generally use a viper with the following loadout

Do whatever you want with the free slot. I usually set the first fire group with lasers primary and the multicannon secondary, and a second fire group with primary lasers and both kinetics secondary. Fire group 1 is for anything small, and group 2 is for targeting the pp on anything asp sized or larger. If you want to enguage in more pvp or are running into lots of chaff, than swap the gimballed pulse laser for a fixed beam.

I've had some fun with the dimondback, but it's more costly, not quite as nimble in combat, and doesn't ~seem~ to get quite as much protection from it's shields. So, if you're going to be focusing on combat in a single system I still recommend the viper.

The courier seems like it might be the best of the bunch, but I don't have the imperial rank to test one out so I can't really say anything for certain other than 2 mc's and a particle accelerator under the nose is a great cowboy bebop cosplay. :p

I adore the Courier for combat. Nimble, decent hardpoint placement, great shields, small cross-section.

I haven't flown the Scout, but I consider the Courier a straight upgrade over the Viper due to its powerplant.
 
Get the Imp courier.

Viper is still King but for NPC combat the courier will be better.
Forget the DBS.
Viper and Courier are better.
Viper got crap jump range and takes ages to travel long distances.
