Elite Dangerous..........

Well I've read the first two pages of this thread and decided to skip to the end. All I can say is, I'm so glad I'm me. I'm really happy that I'm the kind of person that can throw myself neck deep into Powerplay, pouring over the ever shifting numbers of the various powers, working out where my time will be best spent. Buying some extra ships to help me with getting to where I want to be.

Entering enemy territory to disrupt their plans to fortify, discussing tactics with other commanders at our HQ, teaming up and turfing enemy commanders out of our HQ, running various missions whilst fortifying specific systems, running like I've stolen something when a group of federales chase me out of the system I'm trying to undermine. Great fun, works best in Open, much more interesting chats with other Commanders and all in all thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm so glad I'm me and enjoy stuff like this.

Maybe the OP needs something more hardcore, like Rogue System.
Check out it's early access.
And with the planned three expansions it will include multiplayer.

Lol! It's actually made PvP better. Why? Well now you actually have reasons to PvP in open. Power of your choice needs to undermine a system, go to the system and start taking out NPCs and Players. Another power undermining one of your important ones, quick, best to go and interdict all the players trying to undermine it.. etc etc etc. There is actually now MORE reason to PvP than there was before. It maybe a little slow at this point because people are learning and shuffling systems and waiting to see what happens next. Lots of player Pirates went and joined the pirate faction and will aggressively begin to expand.

Folks have complained that players don't get to do enough to change the face of the universe, well PP has that potential and not just by ferrying things from A to B.... but I suppose it's too complicated to grasp for some.

There seems to be less people online in open since the launch of 1.3 So your point is moot if there is a lack of players to do that with.

maybe the universe is too big to see everyone ;)

Valid point, tho I saw more people prior to that patch. So it's not the size. Before hand i could go to leesti and lave and find some action. Those sections have dried up a bit with people spreading out for power play. Has made pvp very slow and almost non existent for me.

Go to the main headquarters of an enemy faction and you'll get all the PVP you could ever dream of.

I feel like if people didn't make these accusations as if their opinion of the game was "fact" and not just their opinion their posts would be better received.

Sorry, but this just comes across as a little arrogant..

(or at least that's how it seems in my opinion) ;)

hey buddy, your right, I'm a horrible arrogant pig :(

haha seriously though point taken, thank you for bringing to me attention, appreciate :)

This pretty much. Any MMO I've played, the most player density is at specific locations.

i think I must be lost in deep space somewhere ;) could you tell me where these densely populated areas are amidst the 400 billion star systems :)

thank you for your reply

Wouldnt it be nice if you actually knew how many real players are where you are at any given time, a counter wouldn't be too hard to implement.

hello :)

im so pleased your you too :)

its fantastic that you feel that way about the game, truly. I hope things get so much better for people who that kind of passion. I simply feel a little let down, but some games are like that aren't they, still believe that this game is a good stepping stone in the right direction for games to come.

Not only did you make this thread bearable, YT went to some cool places after the first theme. It played the Imperial March after that, and BATMAN vs DARTH VADER after that. Totally worth it.

is there something you didn't understand in the thread buddy, too complicated to grasp, Im more than willing to explain things for you in a little more detail Padawan :)

Wow, so thread title, very description. The "written in crayon" silly font and colour choice are just the icing on an extremely impressive cake.

This is a phenomena that seems to be consistent across the Internet sadly, I have no issue with someone saying they hate this or that within this game, as long as they are clear it is an opinion. many of his statements though are presented as fact, thus to summarise

Rahhhhhrgh

Rahhhhhrgh

Rahhhhhrgh

TLDR

Rage Quit

just read the darn post and talk about that buddy, I'm colour blind and my English isn't the best, not my greatest subject, however, I believe that I'm capable of stringing together a little better than simply making comments regarding the format. Anyway, that said did you agree or disagree with anything I said in the post, or were you unable to read :)

Where is the TLDR section in normal text color below this turquoise wall?

Sorry you are irked out, but most games are a subjective experience for each single gamer. And as such what is a dealbreaker for some will be something to overlook for the focus of what is working well for others. Also Patience is a Virtue.
Your unquoted statements and trashing of the developers in turquoise color is categorized as a rant even before the Star Wars Theme got through the first 30 seconds, and I am sorry if this offends, but your nick seems oddly fitting.

hello :)

no no you don't offend me :) I love criticism as long as it's educated so I can be bothered to reply back, I'm replying back to you buddy because your first 2 sentences started rather well, but unfrotunately you let yourself down a little towards the end. Anyway, enough of that, what do you think about the game being a stepping stone for future developments ? Did you check out the link one of the guys posted on the thread regarding RogueSystem, I included the link, looks pretty cool don't you think ?

thanks for replying though buddy :)

You have some legitimate points, no doubt.

I agree that the game has been released prematurely, seriously lacking content, and still bug ridden. This was a short sighted money grab, and I fear that it may hurt the game in the long run, as initial players will leave the game feeling frustrated and misled by advertising. I'm a beta backer and nostalgic old time fan boy, and struggle with accepting some of the decisions made by FD.

I also agree that Elite: Dangerous doesn't have a sense of direction. But that, I believe, is an integral part of the game design. For better and for worse.

But apart from this, I think Elite: Dangerous is an amazing game. I can spend hours flying here and there without any real purpose, and I hope that Elite: Dangerous will get there in the end. Wherever that may be. We don't really know, and FD won't share the roadmap... :(

Fly safe

Hello buddy, thank you for posting, I've not looked at it as you said, Elite doesn't neccesarily have a direction, but maybe that is what a lot of people like, and why not :) I think looking at things they way you said maybe it's good that the game doesn't have just one direction.

thank you for replying
