My farthest is 9kly. But I was heading out towards the near rim and that was as far as you could go on that particular radius.

Looking out from there, and looking back...

Congrats :) The invisible tether to the bubble has a surprising amount of tension around 1kLY. But once you get farther out than it takes to travel back in a day's worth of exploration, then the tether slackens quite a bit.

Soon you will feel the "gravitation" of a black hole like Sagittarius A or Great Annihilator that will drift you much more out of the bubble. And before you will notice it, you are plenty k Ly away from home ;)

Have a nice trip!

Congrats on getting out of the bubble, once you're outside, it looks surprisingly small compared to how it looked from the inside no? If you think the thrill of being 1,000 LY out is cool, keep going. Like Ziljan said get a few literal days out, it starts getting weird on you.

Fly safe.

thanks for your congrats, and some rep back at ya...and I almost forgot to put throttle to zero when I jumped!.....hahahaha

thx and yes, when I came back after few weeks the landing (with all the data on board) was flying a raw egg. :D

I've just hit 1200Ly, and to my surprise it's a lot more interesting than Trading.

I'm in a Diamondback Explorer, was going to go right to the outer rim, but was too spooked at the thought of the long jump distances and lack of scoopable stars.

Maybe next time in an Anaconda.

I'm currently ~1.7k LY from my home world of Lave. I suspect I'll at least double that distance before I reach my objective...the Galactic Rim.

At 27,000 ly from Sol...can I enroll in 27 times??? lol...
No you only get one membership, but you get +26 kylie club bonus points.

the DBE is nearly as capable an explorer as the ASP, you should see how far you get, you know you want to. :p

I suspect you will WAY more than double it.

I'm pretty sure the 9kly point where I hit the rim is about as close as you can get to the bubble and still be on the rim. So more like six times than two, at least. A lot more if you pick a different direction :)

I left 'Home' on 15th April and arrived at Sag A* on 5th May. Been snaking my way back ever since, taking in the sights. I feel I am almost home as only 2200ly to go and 2600+ systems scanned. Not seen a single Cmdr since having a dance with as 'conda whilst at the core. I hope there are some NPC's who fancy their chances as I have not fired a single shot for 2 months.

I am slowly making my way "up" the arm, about 4kly away from LHS 3447. Found a cluster of neutron stars a few days ago. When I hear people complain the game is all used up and they want to play alone, I laugh. They just have no idea how much is out there. This game gives you a really good look at how massive just our galaxy truly is.

How do you know how many systems you've scanned?

It in the right panel under stats (?) One of the sub-pages under the first tab I think. Can't get in-game exactly yet, as it's still upgrading.

EDIT: Yes, it's on the right Status > Statistics

If I'm not mistaken, "Systems Visited" actively updates while you're out there. The other stats only update when you cash-in, obviously.
