Oculus Rift Presentation

Yup. Is it me or does the commercial version of the OR in the presentation look.......Well......A bit crap?

I was hoping it would look like the "Crescent bay" version. Instead it looks a bit cheap, boxy and covered in sponge and neoprene, ? :(

Perhaps it's just not coming accross that well on the stream! :S

More concerned about the absolute non-mention of FD or Elite Dangerous there during the game developer segment of the presentation. Seriously, I thought Elite: Dangerous was a premiere title deserved of at least a mention ...

Yup.
TL;DR version: ships Q1, '16. Includes Xbone controller. Handheld thingies will let you' interact' with virtual environment, but sold separately. Still no pricing news.

Eve Valkyrie looks more "fun" and two space ship games in the same presentation would have made it look a bit like a one trick pony.

Maybe Frontier are going to support the Steam HTC/Vive? Oculus appear to have supported Valkyrie so I guess Elite is their competition now in relation to Spaceship VR?

I remember Palmer mentioning Elite many times in the early days. Why the relationship seems to have evaporated I just don't get. Elite Dangerous has lead the way in virtual cockpit VR and probably helped sell thousands of DK1 and DK2's.
