Elite no longer detecting OR

I've had no issues with the OR since premium beta, but after yesterdays patch it seems ED is no longer detecting the OR. In the in-game graphics options under the 3D option, Oculus is no longer listed as an option. The only options available are Anaglyph and Side by Side.

I haven't changed anything, updated anything, or messed with anything. The OR works fine with all other programs its always worked with, except ED.

Any ideas why ED is no longer detecting it? :S

You'll probably have to update the firmware, stop the service, uninstall 5.0.1, disconnect OR, reboot, reinstall 5, reconnect OR, try the test scene, recalibrate, then try Elite.

Aw, I wanted to be the one to help Erimus. Anyway, glad you've decided to try it again. Hopefully due to my recommendation ;)

Any good?

I keep forgetting just how good ED is through the rift. I've been on a downer with ED for a week or two due to the lack of explorer content and PP, but I must admit, through the Rift I get a completely different vibe from the game.

I should use it more often ;)

just to chime in : The rift support in 1.3 was virtually flawless for me, but the latest patch broke it. Whereas I just had to put the Rift in extended mode and start ED now I have to also put it as primary monitor. Whilst this is not completely catastrophic (I mean .. I can still play .. somehow), it is a major step back. This is with the 0.5 driver, so I'll check the 0.6 ones later tonight.

Something must be wrong on your end since it's running fine for me in extended, secondary monitor. I'm one of those that have no issues with 0.6 runtime, trying doesn't hurt!

I am experiencing no OR option, I am running 2.12 Firmware, where can 0.5.0.1. be downloaded from? Oculus website has 6.0 on but everyone says don't use it?

Between the support ticket raised and searching/posting on the forum this problem is now fixed, but it wasn't just a case of updating the SDK for Windows part, once this was done it still didn't work, I had to upgrade the RUNTIME as well to 0.5.0.1 BETA. When I ran this it told me I had to uninstall the old runtime, which I did, and then the new upgrade was able to install and together with the SDK upgrade to 0.5.0.1 BETA it's all started working again.
However, I am still getting the 'black smear' mentioned in other posts but to clear this I switch the headset off, switch it back on again and then click the image back into the rift by pressing ALT + TAB which brings up all the programs running and selecting the oculus screen, this sorts the black smear out, I have also tried altering the settings in the NVDIA which seems to help.
Overall the image quality in the rift is now much improved, menus are more responsive and clearer and head tracking seems really good when the graphic option of MED is selected, ULTRA seems a little jerky.
Thanks for all your help.
I couldn't be bothered to play Elite without my rift, it just wasn't the same!

No one in this thread said anything about installing the SKD. The SDK is for developers to install into their games to make the rift work, the first reply in the thread said to install the 0.5 runtime.

If you are using the old 4 runtime, update to 5.0.1 or whatever it is, but not 6.

I'm sure that's what he meant
