I believe this move is long overdue and will find community-wide consensus. Quite a few stations in the Elite universe are named after various artists who have contributed to sci-fi or fantasy, but tragically David Hasselhoff has been somehow overlooked.
David Hasselhoff, an 80s icon... no, legend... will, I'm sure, bring back fond memories amongst many of you who will fondly remember a crime fighting duo of enormously haired man and a car that talked. A car which had the primary function of "the preservation of human life", but never told anyone inside it to fasten their seat belt. But these are not the only things The Hoff did.
This is a man who faced an android with a lightsaber long before Ewan Mcgregor was out of short pants.

And a man who played a beach side lifeguard who spent his evenings fighting werewolves, vampires, and even aliens in a show that the creators of the X-Files retroactively ripped off several years earlier.
Now we come to the more radical part of my idea, because this isn't just about a simple station name change. Mr Hasselhoffs creative contribution to the culture of science fiction is unquestionable. But incredibly, this mans talents stretch to music as well as acting and producing movies and shows. Thus he has crafted numerous works of art in the form of song which, if FDev obtain the rights to use in the game, could be played over the tannoy in Hoff Hub, or even used as custom docking music for the station (whether or not someone uses the docking computer, simply play the music as soon as docking permission is requested).
Another positive consequence of this would be to drive many of the anti-social types who frequent Lave out of the system!
