Combat Ranking Progression - advice needed please

Hi CMDRs,

Could you take a sec to look at this and tell me if you would expect my rank to be as it is with this kill count? Should I be searching only high ranked ships to increase my combat rank? ATM I'm just killing anything that has a bounty or Combat Bond.... Thanks in advance

Yes, that looks normal. Bear in mind that bounties claimed is not a 1:1 relationship with kills if you use a kill warrant scanner and claim a single kill in multiple locations. I had another 700 CZ kills on top of your score when I hit Dangerous.
As for progression; unless Frontier fixes the game's NPC rank ratings then forget it.

Oh, and out of interest I DID try searching the forum for an answer to your question and got nowhere because the search algorithm is not good enough.

Of course I searched the forums. Lots of interesting anecdotal info out there but nothing that I could directly compare my experiences to. Thanks anyway

I suspect that the stall is due to the fact that sine 1.3 most NPC spawns now seem to be Mostly Harmless, and they don't help push your rank up much (if at all). I have found the same thing. On the occasions that I have found higher ranked ships, my progression has crept up by a couple of percent.
