Archon Delaine related question

I got quite a few messages/emails via my Elite blog from people asking questions about various things in the game.

Some of them I can answer, those that I can't I normally direct the person to the forums to try and get an answer.

However, I got a question yesterday morning (probably due to the link in the newsletter) which I have no idea on what the answer would be and having thought about it I'd actually be interested in the answer as well! So I'm posting directly to the forums and will send this person a link to this post.

They've pledged to Archon Delaine (with A.LD myself) and want to get their merits up for the ratings. The question was about ways of getting more than 1 merit per kill as they'd heard you can get 15 at a time instead but didn't know how to do that.

I had no idea it was possible either, hence writing this post.

So... how do you earn 15 merits per kill when pledged to Archon Delaine? (to answer their question)

And... Is this possible with the other powers as well? If it is and you know what you need to do, let me know and I'll compile it in to one of the new sections I'm putting on my blog for the Powerplay.

Dock in a system that is controlled by an opposing Power, contact your Power Contact and you'll be told which ships to destroy - you get 16 merit points per kill.

Edit:

Or any other opposing powers ships.

You don't need to dock there, you can go into the galaxy map and look ta opposing power's control systems, and choose power map.

Example: Pratnav. Go to his power info on Map. Put eyes on Control. See Undermine. Read:

So, dey should be headin over to Pratnav space and pirating NPC 'Reform Ships', hopin to 'Release Utopian Dissidents' (See! Archon not such a bad guys!).

Should net 15 merits/dissent.


Differnt power, differnt Control:Undermine reqs. Li-Yong yuh gotta steal from. A.Lavingly gotta blow tings up etc..

Open Galactic Powers and click on "View Power Standing". If you click on any alternative power once pledged to Archon (or any other power you are pledged to) and then click on Expansion or Control it will tell you what you can do to undermine each power.
Going to Denton Patreus Control Tab and then clicking one of the systems on the left for example shows you that you can go to there and "take out" Imperial Support Vessels.
You get 15 merits for each one, and you also do for taking out Patreus Sentinels.
Also, while you are there (ie outside YOUR control area) you also get 15 merits for every other Powers' Ships you take out. (ie Pratnavs, Aislings Angels etc)
This undermines the control attempt as you can see on the right hand side on each system you click on.
Don't forget to equip an FSDI. :D
