indeed.

gta like is a lot (too much) to expect BUT....... there are some very good procedural city generators out there now so some detail is possible

further more wildlife is much easier to do procedurally (look at no mans sky) and on top of that iirc I read that Skyrim was done procedurally - albeit with a wide manual brush painted over the top afterwards.

Agreed. When you are talking procedural buildings it won't be the same kind of tailored/bespoke city that GTA V requires. Enough to give a sense of the environment. Theoretically the size of the city would only be restricted by the speed of the graphics card and cpu and their abilities to display it on screen.

Wasn't Ian seen sneaking around the release event last year? It was probably all rumor.

Maybe David & Ian are going to reunite at E3 to announce a single player story based expansion to ED titled "Elite Deadly" written mostly by Ian. Like when the Beatles reunited to make that band guitar hero thing nobody played.

Maybe we'll get planetary landings.

Maybe we'll get to walk around ships.

Maybe it's the Fratellis.

Maybe Chunk found the police.

what you say seems logic, they want as much people as possible into the game to raise some profit, but why ? for themselves (of course) and also for one of the major expansion, which by logic should be FPS mode

what do you think ?

Well, we know from recent history that they can and will change things, some of which wont always go down well with the fans.

The FPS stuff, I'm not convinced we will ever see any of that, getting closer to planets I think will happen and maybe walking around your ship, but all that talk about hunting on planet surfaces, I would put money on that not happening.

There's a hint of what they're announcing in-game. It's got to do with VR. Check out a post from the 13th on Galnet, I believe. They talk about SIM's and how the Federation want to help "train" people addicted to sim's and get them more active and stuff. Could be VR, could be a mobile app.

I say this given the article specifically states Tuesday, the 16th of this month as being the big reveal.

They'll brag about the impressive digits behind the existing content, while promising absolutely nothing for the immediate future. They might re-iterate old promises, but that's all.

I don't think perpetually waiting for the next update is what I signed up for.

If No Man's Sky can do it with half a dozen people, there's no reason why Frontier can't.

Sequel incoming:

Elite: The Jeff Ryan Story

Take on the role of intergalactic hero Jeff Ryan as he fights for his Space Khaleesi in the latest single player addition to the Elite family. Unlike previous games this game is a single player RPG broadening the lore of the Elite universe.

Intergalactic Hero Jeff Ryan must battle the forces of Denton Patreus, Senator Torval and the illegitimate aunt of his beloved Princess in this amazing procedurally generated adventure.

I would buy that, it sounds a load more fun than PP.

I wouldn't totally rule out some sort of new content, given that the Power play was essentially non-graphics based. They might have had time to work on other things.

Will I be able to customise my character as long as he's called Jeff Ryan and he always has a main of silvery hair to ensure the pre-rendered cut scenes still work?

I trust there will be ample opportunity to engage in sexy sex while docked in star ports. You need to have sexy sex now for the kids.

That's a huge jump in speculation. He didn't answer questions about future expansions because his Q & A was all about Powerplay. Frontier will probably be releasing a new game at E3 and also Xbox players will be coming online around then. Let's cut out the 'what ifs' and deal with what we know.
Well, there wasn't much on the newsletter, but it seems they were working for the Xbox one beta.

I don't know you'd have to ask Chewbrookie.
