Military Strike Zones - If you're not aligned to a power, do you get CR instead of PP points?

Someone please test and confirm this. If any devs see this, this is the reason im leaving powerplay. its ridiculous that we can earn credits been a random no team bounty hunter, but if we sign up to PP and fight for the cause, there is no cash reward, unless we're a grind monkey who can make 50,000 tokens- unlikely, if you have a job and busy shedule, except for the most dedicated players.

Currently for a combat only casual player you are much better off without been involved in a power.

Don't think its a bug. Military strike zone are for PP and you can only earn merit, not combat bonds. If your not with a power, you will earn nothing.
Seems fair to me.

Seems like a huge issue to me. I do NOT want to play in Powerplay.... Military Strikes are the only mechanic that promote PvP in specific locations. So if I go to them aligned to a Power I at least get merits. If I go there not aligned I get nothing.

So I'm actually bleeding money doing what I enjoy in the game?

I tried Military Zone without being with a Power. Each time you kill an opponent, you don't get anything at all, no CR, no Merits (of course)

If Military Strike Zones don't yield any payments to non-aligned players, then they should just ignore them. Combat Zones, and all of the rest of the galaxy still function. Casual Combat players can still use RES, CZ's, and Nav Beacons just as before. The Strikes are for PP interplay. Stop with the overzealous drama already.

For SIX months I've been waiting for organised PvP zones... They disappeared with the end of the Beta Eranin combat zone...

Now we have them again. I'll fight in the for nothing TBH, but it seems stupid not to get a reward that mirrors other combat zones.

Conflict Zone come and go depending on what's happening with the minor factions. CZ's are the same environment as Military Strikes. These zones are not the only place for PvP. The entire 'Open' mode is for PvP. I must not be understanding your issue.

No, you will not receive anything for participating in a Military Strike if not aligned to a power. The only thing you can get by doing this is an ammo/fuel bill for the trip. A friend of mine tried it out while I was in one, he left shortly after since he gained nothing by being there (he is neutral).

Yes, Conflict Zones come and go, and there's hundreds of them, hence why you typically cannot find any other CMDRs in them when you want to actually have some PvP fun - Fly into some Combat Zones now, and see if you find any CMDRS.

HOWEVER, if I go to a Military Strike Zone, you are almost certain to find CMDRs there - Go to a couple of Strike Zones now, and you'll see CMDRs almost certainly.


At long last, after over SIX months, you can go specifically to a location to easily find other CMDRs to fight against... And unfortunately the needless penalty for this is its a time/CR unlike it's identical twin Combat Zones...

I get what you're saying Neil, and I agree with you it's frustrating on these forums because some people mirror FD's complete lack of understanding of basic economics.

But no, you don't get anything. PowerPlay is extremely poorly designed. It's highly exploitable to those with the 100m you need to kick start the infinite money loop, and baring that you're always sacrificing (huge amounts of) time for no actual gain, just the "pleasure" of seeing colored bubbles move around a map.

You are conflating what you want Military Strike Zones for, and what they actuary are for. If your only interest is in PvP they will still serve. You just won't earn any currency. But, PvP never does anyway. I don't think we will see eye to eye, so fly safe out there.
