I can't see it staying at $30 for too long.
Given that XBO early access players are finding they have a start situation of 100,000cr, with ships costing 100cr, I think it's safe to assume this is in Beta Mode, with "game progress" an imaginary thing that will vanish without warning prior to launch. Possibly several times, lol.

Hmm, same game for half the price, nice going Frontier, real slick. That certainly won't annoy anyone, no, no one at all.
Wait until they start offering the facility to name a planet for $4.99 through the Xbox Store.

From the sounds of it, it's not worth $30 in its current state, which is a "preview" (Beta). Once it's officially released the price will jump up and fall in line with the normal console prices.

back in kickstarter I believe the earliest level you could get in and get the game was £20. Whilst I believe there may be some zonal inequalities, (as I posted elsewhere with the UK getting the short end of the stick) I do not think we are in a position to moan on the price
indeed I actually think that FD are being pretty canny on the pricing... its a very good price for a AAA new release title on the xbox.

PS what is it with the snobbery of some who seem to think xbox gamers are in any way lacking in intelligence etc over PC gamers?
I have been a PC gamer for many many years, and I own an xbox 360 since launch, and only recently got rid of my (real) xbox1 - the one with a controller for goalkeepers. AFAIK neither my IQ nor my ability to play a slightly more technically challenging game dropped on turning on my console.

Could not believe this when i read this post today.
Very disappointed tbh. thought pc was to be 1st to try all new features/game modes whatever.
paid £100 twice (1 for my bro) at early beta,
feel like i've been shafted as xbone get to try this close quarter combat thing before us,the older guys,who would probably spot the bugs in cqc far quicker than the xbone kiddies,
doesnt make sense imho.

No mate - You thought wrong. "First round private beta" does not mean "You are guaranteed to be the first to try all future content"
It simply means you get in the first round of beta testing (back in 2014)
didnt say what beta were entitled to mate. if you read the original game plans to alpha backers ect it says all features would be exclusively on pc first....go check Mate.
the $30 is not a "preview"...the "preview" is free...i spent 60min in it for free...the $30 gets my everything except CQC...according to a dev blog post.
Who the cares? If i buy a TV today it will be cheaper somewhere else tommorow. Its a fact of life. Deal with it.

Where are these 100cr ships? I just paid 85,000cr for an Adder.
So, we were told by FD that if you buy on one platform you can play on any platform, but that would not work for playing on the consoles. Which given how that market operates is understandable.
But, can I buy on XBox and play on PC and Mac as well? Or does that not work either? I know there is a sale on E: D at the moment, but the XBox license is still much cheaper ...
