Regardless of your views on Frontier's policies or perceived attitudes, the level of vitriol and personal nastiness in this thread has been utterly disgraceful, even if it were being posted by teenagers. Everyone needs to stop the name calling, the bitter snarkiness and the vile trolling. Stop dragging this forum down into petty, toxic abuse.

True enough, but after going through the shard debate in Beta/Gamma, offline-gate, 1.1 disaster, limited edition rumble, backer rewards throwdown, the insurance tear up and so many more. I've just about had it with all the drama and around these parts. When it comes down to it, when we are really talking about how one feels as they put their hand on the joystick and launch from the station, I'm very happy with this game and I'm happy with how much FD has worked to make it stable. The 1.3 bugs, imo, are not critical (though I may have avoided them) and could stand to be put on hold for E3 and Xbox release.
Do I think they could do more? Absolutely, especially when it comes to communication, they rank right up there with Valve, EA and other tight-lipped studios.
Now, regarding cqc as exclusive, I'm not sure FD had a great deal of leverage on that (maybe they did, but probably not). I would bet that MS demanded, not paid for, some sort of exclusive content for Xbox. Frontier, being a prudently run business, saw that the potential revenue from going on another platform far outweighed the temporary fallout with the PC player base.
Just my two cents though...in this space of us not knowing what FD is doing or thinking all our opinions are valid....well...most
Well for me 1.3 broke piracy with the 20t cargo limit. Apparently there's a fix coming soon (brooks thought there had been a limit since beta though . . .) but until then I've not played as my profession is broken. Add on the wear and tear and repair costs that break every "fix" update, even if I did play I wouldn't be risking taking out my python or anaconda so I'm in limbo right now, indefinitely.
I was expecting exclusive content for xbox but more along the lines of a free eagle like the mercenary edition and free ship skins or decals. Access to a normal xbox beta as well would have been fine. I would have also been happy if they had given the xbox players a new ship to test as well.
The main problem for me is a whole new mode which in lieu of any normal content they could have developed for the main game in the time they took to develop cqc should have come to pc at the same time.

I think Elite: Dangerous is Grrrrrreeeeat! OP, relax. It's a game, not real life. Watch the news and you'll see plenty of stuff to really get angry/upset about. Go for a bike ride or something, you'll feel better.

Don't ever remember anyone saying my KS(Kick Starter) pledge should have this nebulous CQC thing-a-me-bob. Damn I wish I knew what it was so I could rant and rave about those pesky Xboners getting it.

David Braben has NEVER lied to backers, players nor everyone around the world. Expectations have been raised sometimes without warrant, only to be amended by practical, financial and "real-world" matters intervening! As a backer, I feel that I have (or will) receive everything that was "promulgated", NOT promised! I have not been lied to, nor slapped in the face, actually or metaphorically, by David Braben or Frontier Developments! With regard to it being a "bad business", on the contrary my dear fellow! It is very GOOD business! As for taking backers money, you sound like it was a blatant daylight robbery of your good self, not a mildly risky "eye's open wide" new business venture that you "had" to invest a little of your worldly wealth in! You have accused David Braben of being a liar probably without ever meeting him or knowing him, however you go too far when you accuse him of being corrupt! I'm sure Mr Braben does not need me or anyone else to defend him, but I suggest you tone down your accusations and rhetoric as they are not welcome to most here! I hope FD do refund your money for all our sakes!

Frontier has betrayed anyone. ED is a project in the long term. And Frontier has already done a lot. And things, even more beautiful, will come in the future
