So, what are the exciting E3 announcements?

I thought that maybe the crowds reaction threw him off, the timing was such maybe he thought they were going to clap/cheer or something but they did nothing. At that point he gave the impression of a pending turtle head.

You should watch the entire thing, there were quite a few companies showing off some very cool stuff. Eve Valkyrie looks to be a real contender, and FD would have to literally pay me to tear me away from Fallout 4 come November.

It just sucks we are kept in the dark about this game ED. Are they even working on the DLC or expansions whatever they are called. What are we missing so far from the game that they said they would add with the expansions. I know planet landing was one. Walking around ships and stations. Plus other ships.

The sectioned off space location will be the first big expansion, then walking around ships, then planet landing. I bet it will be 3-4 years before planet landing ever happens. A year for opening up locked space areas. 2-3 years for walking around ships and stations. I bet at the end of 2016 a large amount of people that are playing elite will change over to SC.

I know they wanted to do these things, but what stage are they at?

At least with Star Citizen you know because they give out detailed updates on everything

Well we're only half way through 2015 and there's still no official release date for Star Marine. They've also got $83m of people's money, so they have to give updates.

That was a demo for his other game.. not Elite. Please keep that in mind.
And the moderators should move this, and all other posts out of the DANGEROUS DISCUSSION section, because this isn't an Elite Dangerous demo that he gave..

Actually I wonder if somebody was talking into his ear. He did have one of those headphone thingies in. Maybe a demo was supposed to be shown that wasn't working at the critical moment?? Empty speculation, but it makes me feel a little better ;)

I'm ashamed to say I've watched it multiple times and I think I'm pretty close to the mark. The more I watch it I can't help laughing. (I'm not a bad person but something just tickles me about it)

There were so many awkward moments throughout that whole PC press conference, kind of a let down after expecting some cool pc announcements.. really was just.., well meh.

Lee Hutchinson from Ars Technica has spoken to Frontier at E3 and has a piece coming out in the morning (US time I guess).

No idea of any revelations but he told me on Twitter he has a long list of questions to ask. So hopefully a little bit of news?

I've decided to edit this post because I feel it was originally written in a very unsympathetic tone and not constructive to the discussion, which is not really how I like to contribute. I'd like to appologise for that over-reaction to everyone here on the forums and at FDev.

I completely understood the need to advertise the new game, and did not mind that at all. I was just very disappointed that the new updates (Powerplay, XBox GPP and CQC) were not communicated to the audience to help promote Elite at such a key event.

I simply feel if he had come over and sat down, and let the host cue questions at him like for every other guest, it would have been more relaxing and more time could have been spent discussion the products, like all the other guests had done.

I've seen plenty of other sit-down interviews where David has been perfectly articulate and his enthusiasm for his products has shone through. Once again, I appologise for the over-critical tone previously.

Felt sorry for him, looked like his thoughts ran away from him for a moment and then he remembered he had a script. Happens to all of us who public speak. I did something similiar in front of 200 delegates at an InfoSec show a few years ago. Got up, started talking and then thought "What the hell am I saying... I'm supposed to be talking about <this other thing>" ;)

Humour usually works, I just said "Can you play that sting again? I want to come on all composed and cool-like." ;)

I don't think it was anything sinister, DB isn't a natural on stage though.

Cheers,

Drew.

In case anyone missed it:

Is David drunk?

Anyway, good news, Planet Coaster is coming to PC next year.......ya!

LoL yeah that was really "odd", I wonder what he was listening to when he got tongue tied..... the guy behind the desk, "a very different tone from Elite Dangerous, looks lovely"..lol

Yes. I only just saw it and I just have no idea what to make of that shambles.

There wasn't anything wrong with the headset or any other technical problem. Every other guest came, shook hands and sat down on the sofa and chatterd with the host.

David comes in, waddles around at the side making no eye-contact with anyone and then forgets what he's supposed to say. So the host has to jump in, and then we see this trailer for this new game.

Whole thing was an embarrassment. I mean really. At least he could have come over, sat down and let the host cue questions at him like for every other guest. Then all he had to do was :

a) Talk about Powerplay a little, show some footage.

b) Then move onto the Xbox One launch and CQC. Show a clip from the trailer.

c) Announce the new game and show the trailer.

I feel sorry for the staff that have flown out to run the booth having to endure that.

I'm sure he wishes he could have done it again, but he doesn't need your judgemental critique.
