Large weapons

IF you cant have large multi-cannons, the twin link two F2 ones with x3 ammo.

Simples.

And it would look awesome with a double blower on the belly.

Even the class 1 multicannon is as big as the GAU-8, if not bigger. The class 2 MC is a monster, compare the size of the weapon to the pilot. A class 3 MC would be a 50mm caliber minigun, that would be silly. An autocannon for class 3 and class 4 is an excellent idea actually. Higher RoF than the cannon, but less damage per shot.

Yeah, they suck for my intended purpose. And I'd not use them during missions either, might as well just use multi-cannons...

Suite yourself, I blow through missions with them taking a slot or two and I never run out of ammo in a bad spot. 105 ammo is plenty for what they can do.
 
So long as the projectile speed and ammo count is reasonable, I have no issues, but we really need alternatives than just cannons for kinetics at class 3 and 4.

Yeah something with a less damaging projectile but high rate of fire would be swell.
 
My x2 C3 cannons and x2 C2 beams does the job perfectly for me. Beams for anything smaller than an Asp. Anything bigger, strip the shields with the beams and finish off its powerplant with the cannons. Its also better for heat management and I have a bit more MW to play with.

Not really too good in a RES or CZ. You'll get half a dozen kills then have to leave and reload.

-Burst Firing Light Cannon - The stepping stone between Multi-Cannon and Cannon [Exists as MEDIUM and LARGE weapon]

-Plasma Repeater - The Thermal version of the Multi-Cannon derived from the Plasma Accelerator but miniaturized - overheats faster and demands more energy AND ammunition

-Charge Laser - A HUGE burst laser with a charge up time similar to a railgun

-Medium Multi-Gun Turret - Medium turret that holds X2 small guns [Drawback - Twice as fast overheat]
-Large Multi-Gun Turret - Large turret that holds X3 small guns [Drawback - Three times as fast overheat]
-Huge multi...you get the point...

-Sniper Cannon - Faster projectile speed than a regular cannon but slower ROF

Support Modules
-Cooling Bank [Slower Overheat]
-Ammo Storage [Ammo Bin] Size rating = 1 Full ammo storage per rating

Now this is a great idea. You have an amazing idea my friend. I would also reccomend the possibility to make the multi-gun turrets have gimballed and fixed variants, but also with versions that lower the weapon amount, but increase the individual gun size.

I'd like to see a weapon firing like the point defence turret : ultra high RoF, low damage per bullet and said bullets would scatter everywhere. That would make a fantastic barrage fire weapon and my Anaconda would definitely look so cool spitting sparky bullets in every direction :D
 
Day 9879 Im still waiting for large Railguns + more ammo OR ammo storage capabilities.
PS: Added manual reload for ammo using weapons would just be a plus.

Heat Ray that looks like the one in the old War of the Worlds movie that causes overheating.
