Has Smuggling Into Stations Been Made More Difficult since v 1.3.2?

Prior to about version 1.3.2 Smuggling into Stations was simply a matter of silent running and chucking out a couple heat sinks. Now even in a DiamondBack Scout I get scanned nearly every single time using the same tactic of slient running and heat sinks.

Just wondering if there has been a un documented change by FD in the ratio that Stations Successfully scan any ship entering except the very small ships Eagle,Sidewinder,Hauler

I have no idea. I've snuck myself into many a station in my Python since 1.32, but that's just me.

Do you mind if I ask you a question?

Why do people - and I notice it more on this forum than most - like to 'sign' their posts like you did in the OP?
We clearly see you are the author. Why bother stating it again?

It seems a tad narcissistic at worst, and redundant at best.

Nothing personal, I'm just wondering.

I'm not sure about 1.3.2 but scanning is a little more frequent.
I notice with SR if you are too slow to enter the letterbox you will get scanned.
I've missed asking for permission a few times and sitting there in SR still gets you scanned.

I've also noticed NPC's, I assume loyal to my Power, actually sometimes stop the police from scanning by threatening them.
Quite amusing actually and nice touch by FD.

I haven't noticed. Returning from a 4 month ED break, last night I had my best smuggling night to date for some 700k and lots of rep, though I was in a Cobra in Empire space.

It's proper and polite English to sign off a letter for example.
You'll see the devs, etc do it too.

Don't fret, it's just a simple signature. Far simpilar than some of the elaborate signatures on this forum and takes up a lot less resources in the process.

We're not signing letters here. We're posting on the internet. Our names are clearly marked right above our messages.

A developer doing it, while still a bit narcissistic, is somewhat understandable. He's doubly affirming that he means what he says
when talking to his customers.

It's a little ridiculous.

No.. it's not the same thing. We all use avatars and such. Taking the time to sign every post is just weird.

But, whatever. Go ahead.

I hardly use silent running. I prefer to align my ship dead on about 6-7km from the station entrance and boost in. Watch out for ships entering and leaving though and with the new speeding penalties this might be difficult to achieve at busy stations.

smuggled some stuff yesterday with my Python, silent running worked as always and all ended well. Didnt even need Heatsinks, dunno whats going wrong on your side.

Difficult?

I have been running smuggling like crazy in my Asp since 1.3 and never been caught once.

Dont trust low heat and always go silent running the last 4 kilometers to the station.

Align with the entrance, get permission within 7.5.
4 pips to engine
At 4 kilometers engage silent running and reengage it when you hit the forcefield.

EDIT: Oh, and brake like crazy if you had boosters on unless you want to make station pancakes.

A greater annoyance is the increased interdictions when smuggling.

Did smuggling in my new Hauler specced fir smuggling. Never got scanned. Silent running + chaff (chaff doesnt cancel scanning but pauses its progress) until im in the station. With a cool running ship and A-rated powerplant you can run silently for quite long. If needed use a heat sink.

Btw, smuggling in my tiny hauler got me about half a million, just doing missions, and improves your trade rank too. :)

Not as ridiculous as complaining about something as trivial as a signature in the first place.

Does chaff still work? I tried it in my anaconda recently and the scan on me completed anyway.

I know when I'm in a RES bounty hunting if an npc uses chaff it will pause my kill warrant scan. But I'm not sure it works against npc's scanning me anymore
