Couldn't resist and bought in on xbox as well. Glad to see some new commanders joining the fold. If anyone is wondering it's the same game. I too am impressed with the controls so far. I'm adjusting to playing with a controller but I'm improving quickly. Finally have that second commander slot I've been wanting

When you say same game, is it including Power Play? Not that I am bothered about that part of the game, but I was wondering if its the same version (1.3) as the PC or are there things missing?
Bought the game a couple days ago and don't regret it even with the issues. I never thought I could ever have fun docking a ship.

Hi, also a returning commander, I ve forgotten how many hours I played Elite on my Acorn electron, when I should of been doing my homework/paper round..moved onto a Commadore Amiga again lost large sections of my life! I'm now 43 and just downloaded the XBox one preview...Wow..better be ringing work think I need to throw a sticky!

Yes, welcome all 60,000 of you (so far)!!
Can't give more accurate numbers sadly since the backers app page stopped showing the numbers previously today.
The previous 24-period showed this though:

And until the numbers stopped they were easily tracking to break that daily number today, ending up somewhere north of 30,000.

With all the tension on the forum following the recent Xbox One release and CQC announcements, it's easy to forget that the community is about to grow quite a bit with all the console players who will buy the game and join our galaxy.
So I'd just like to welcome all the new commanders who are discovering the game now on console. I hope you will enjoy the game and find your place in our little community. The galaxy is large enough to share with everybody!

With you there Pal. Semi Retired 50 year old here. I haven't touched Witcher 3 since I got Elite and I've only really just started witcher too.
I did play Elite back in 1985 I think it was when I was a Hod carrier.
Now this is looking soooo good on console. I need to learn everything again its been that long.
So far I can launch a ship, dock a ship, Hyperjump and dock in a station far far away.
I changed my Sidewinder for an Eagle although not too sure about it now as I kitted out the weapons a bit and upgraded the power supply BUT I just jumped to a system to locate an unknown source and BAM ambushed by a load of bad guys, not enough Armour obviously and didn't have chance to jump the hell out of there if that is even possible lol. BANG goes my new pride and joy and potless again.
Ah well back to the drawing board.
At least being a Beta version it's just a time for me to get to grips with the whole system.
Maybe by the time of full release I might actually be good enough to venture out there and earn a few credits.

Thank you for a warm welcoming. I dipped my toes into the forum for a bit, and pretty much got rejected. Alas, as console players, we don't really deserve any welcoming at all...but, thank you. Also, thank you, Frontier, for this amazing game and experience.
You'll find the majority of the forum are the bring-our-new-neighbours-a-cake types. For a game like Elite there is a need to rely somewhat on the forums. There are plenty of guides and Twitch streams from which to learn, but nothing beats asking a question
Have fun out there and remember that now is the best time to make all your mistakes.
I was waiting for E3 to see if there was going to be a release date announcement and this was a very pleasant surprise.
I have been a bit torn whether to wait till the Xbox version was released or get it on the PC. I have found the game very easy to pick and I can't believe how much I have gleaned, watching Twitch streams over the past couple of weeks.
The controls work very well on the pad and I do hope they add some voice control via Kinect. I know it won't be like what some people have done on the PC but it will add to the immersion.

For those on either PC or Xbox, I am Mavrac, PC and x live tag, original backer PC, now running it on the one. Sure wish my saves went between the two. But if any of you're looking for a wing, let me know, sorry kids as a personal rule if you can't drink we can't be friends. No offense.
They haven't said yet if saves will go between xb1 and PC. I sure hope they do. Right now we're playing in a separate environment on XB1, not connected at all to the PC galaxy. The plan though is when it goes live the XB1 and PC will be in the same shared galaxy (though unable to see each other in instances).
To the Devs of the xbox-one ELITEANGEROUS...we'll done so far guys . what a start. I've got nostalgia rating ooofftt! !!
