A couple of questions concering mining

I have a couple of questions regarding mining.
I have some theories and read some theories and wondered if you could confirm or deny them.

First, it is the selection of the mining area. I am mining in a pretty fine pristine metallic ring near the edge of the inhabited area using a Lakon 7.

Question 1: I wonder if yields are better in extraciton zones. I mean: Is there any reason why I should myself to the potential danger of a pirate attack contrary to just mining outside? I have never tried so far because I play peacefully.

Question 2: Are there any difference between pristine metallic locations concerning yield? Someone wrote that he thinks that the lighter rings are better than darker areas. So far I didn't get the impression, but I don't think I have tried long enough to make a statistical guess.
Also: Is it better to mine in remote systems than in the middle of inhabited areas?

Question 3: I think the collector drones are working fine now if you know how to use them. (not too rotating asteroids, position yourself properly, etc.) But I have problems with the prospector drones. I can control three of them. That's the main reason why I switched to the Lakon 7 so that I can carry a powerful enough module. I planned to send out three drones and then choose the best result for mining. Repeat.
The problem is that after I have deployed the first three, the next ones don't deactivate the former ones in order. Example: I deploy two drones. The second one may or may not deactivate the one immediatly preceeding.
This makes the whole multiple prospectors feature pretty much useless.
So, the question: Is this a bug or is there defined order in which prospectors are deactivated? If yes, please tell me.

Question 4: Sometimes I get the impression that the resources are not evenly distributed among the rings. More often than not I seem to hit a hotspot where every second asteroid contains Painite, then for half an hour I don't find another. Again, no statstic, but I wonder if anybody else is also experiencing this.

Question 5: Sometimes I wonder how good it is to use prospectors at all. Maybe I can save time by just randomly mining. But I haven't tried it yet. Your thoughts?

Question 6: Is there any way to avoid having to click 120 times in order to load up enough limpets?

Question 7: I still have a bit of a problem estimating the size and distance of asteroids. Any tricks?

Right now my routine is:
Prospect.
Mine.
After the asteroid is depleted, shoot prospectors at nearby asteroids.
After collection is finished, either mine on or leave the whole area.
Prospect again.
I always face towards the planet in order to avoid depleted asteroids.
I always try to mine small and round asteroids. Non-rotating ones are also acceptable.
I usually do not jettison. If the cargo hull is full, I head back, even if there is gallite in it.

Stay away from RES sites, the pirates will anoy you to hell. You will find yourself more defending then mining even at low RES.
Aside from that if your shields go down they use limpjets to open your cargohatch, so you will also loose the reward from hours of mining.
Not forgetting the repair costs thought.

After i did try mining in a high RES i think you will get better results there but you cant go there alone, because of the endless pirate attacks.

Question 5: Sometimes I wonder how good it is to use prospectors at all. Maybe I can save time by just randomly mining. But I haven't tried it yet. Your thoughts?
I havent used prospector drones yet. I did mine in 1.2 already without drones and i just look at the fragment and see how good the % are. If its good enought i just stay untill the roid is depleated.
If not i fly to the next roid and do a test shot.

Question 6: Is there any way to avoid having to click 120 times in order to load up enough limpets?
Dont know i just keep holding and they start running into my cargo at the ammo screen. Then again im not 100% sure since i didnt had an eye on it, can be wrong.

Question 7: I still have a bit of a problem estimating the size and distance of asteroids. Any tricks?
Turn lights on, if you come neat to a roid u will see the lights on a roid. There is also collision warning telling you that your are near enought.

Question 1: the yield is better but you'll end up fighting more than mining.

Question 3: I have the same problem with prospector drones. What I do is I fire all of them which it can control at the same time, mine the most profitable asteroids then I cut power to the prospector controller module and PUFF all of the prospector drones are dead - rinse and repeat.

Question 5: Tried that just mine everything in sight, even with 7 collector drones and 2x2Class mining lasers I found that cherry picking with prospector drones to be the the best Cr/hour.
Let me know if you have figured out how to make "trolling" the asteroids of everything which is mineable to be better than cherry picking.

Question 6: Not that I know of. *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* ....

Question 7: Difficult one. If you are close enough so your ship light show up on the asteroid then it is pretty obvious that it is the closet.
Flying in a straight line, the objects which are closer will appear to move quicker than the ones future away. However this effect is somewhat ruined by objects which are approaching straight on.
It would be nice to have a radar of the field so you can better see the relative distances.

No, you have to click every single time. I have just tried. Over a hundred individual clicks necessary.

Question 3: I have the same problem with prospector drones. What I do is I fire all of them which it can control at the same time, mine the most profitable asteroids then I cut power to the prospector controller module and PUFF all of the prospector drones are dead - rinse and repeat.
Ah, good. Sounds good for now. I didn't know how to destroy my own drones. Thanks for the tip.

Question 5: Tried that just mine everything in sight, even with 7 collector drones and 2x2Class mining lasers I found that cherry picking with prospector drones to be the the best Cr/hour.
Question: Do more than two mining lasers still give you an advantage? I can't defend myself anyway in my Lakon 7 so I might as well load up on maximum mining lasers.

Question 7: Difficult one. If you are close enough so your ship light show up on the asteroid then it is pretty obvious that it is the closet.

I always wondered why the radar was designed to be so ineffective when it comes to asteroids. Why didn't they just implement them like all other objects, just with a different color?

As I understand and my impressions as well is that they mine twice as fast as a single class2 mining laser.

did you have any luck in figuring something out for your question 2 and 4?
