No point fixing ships - right?

Correct me of if I'm wrong.

My ship after is destroyed cost 12 k to re-create.

Fixing a ship with 50% hull left cost me around 40k. I should just crash the ship and get one from insurance right? I mean the prices are . Unless I'm losing something ?

Then maybe it is a bug folks and can be fixed?

I've been complaining about this since beta. Nobody seems to care. Its stupid.

With those figures maybe the best thing you can do is drive your ship into the wall of a station.

just out of interest what type of ship are we talking about here and with what upgrades?

Just wrote my second ticket...they asked for screenshots so sent the latest 800 000 repair all for 30 percent hull and 800 000 for 30 percent integrity...only had this python a week, and I wouldn't mind as much if someone was able to confirm whether it is actually a bug or the new price of repairs...the guys at support seem unsure.

It's never been like this until 1.3 the whole patch is broken and I'm personally not playing until it's fixed. I'm not risking taking out my python or conda and racking up insane repair or wear and tear bills.

It sounds close to real life to me. I pay insurance premiums and pay just the excess on damage. Then my premiums go up but balance out after much shopping around and getting older. Else I end up paying my own repairs at my own expense. Well, considering SC causes the integrity damage but you still have a ship to repair, it really is up to your maths and morals to errrr crash it good and proper and claim. Luckily in life we don't go out of our way to need to do this (well, most of us!).

You can debate all you like but it's a bug and this is a game not real life. It's crippling in high end ships.

You don't pay regularly in this game, you do in real life.

Imagine that on a conda with an 8mil rebuy . . .

Broken.

Yeh, gonna have to agree with you there. Spent 1.5 mil on a Python's repair bill after fighting
in a military strike for Hudson. In which you get basically no credits.

Pointless to fight for my power when I can't use my most powerful ship. I'm going back to trading until this is fixed.
I really hope this is a bug and not some stealth-nerf. Otherwise it's pointless to own the bigger ships.

Thanks for the quote CMDRs. I do not condone the integrity costs. I've yet to find out how Exploring actually pays out against these costs (and pay out bugs if any still exist). You do pay integrity regularly as it does accumulate. Choose to ignore it and it bites your ass.
FD - please just say if this is intentional to mess up our morals or you admit it is a BUG.

It is a bug because they keep saying they've fixed it in their patch notes and then the next one breaks it ;)

When your integrity hits 0 then your ships hull is 30% weaker, that's all it does. Might not be much of a problem in normal circumstances but until you know fd will reimburse you if you end up with it costing more than your ship to fix then I suggest you play it safe.
